  1. Congrats!!! I'm glad there is a happy ending to the story. Best of luck with everything!
  2. Thank you! Best of luck to you as well, I wish you the best!
  3. Hi everyone, I hope you all heard good news or will hear soon. I just wanted to update you that I got an offer from Princeton and will be attending in September. It was a lovely ride here and thank you all for your support and solidarity throughout the process. I hope to see you all as wonderful future scholars! I'll make sure to write a long and detailed Lessons Learnt when the post is up. À la prochaine!
  4. Thanks! A bit happy as it is my first offer.
  5. Also just got an offer at Oxford, no mention of the college though.
  6. Hey, first of all, congrats on all these acceptances! I think the question can't be answered without looking at the cost of each program. I honestly think the UChicago CIR program has the best placement into top Ph.D. programs (I have seen a lot of people in the top 10 PhDs who have done this program before, whereas none whom I remember did the Georgetown MAs). The Tufts one is very professional work (diplomacy/think tank etc...) orientated and doesn't place as well into top PhDs. SAIS does well if you want to do a PhD in the IR subfield. But still, how much aid did you get, and how much will each program cost you? Secondly, may I ask why not any UK masters? I think LSE (Government/Methodology) and Oxford (DPIR/OII) place very well in top US PhD programs. Plus, they are cheaper and the cost of living is cheaper. It would also be easier for you to attend, and possibly get better scholarships due to the Irish-UK relations (I may be wrong on this).
  7. Same, claiming a Yale rejection, congrats to all those admitted!
  8. I got a Berkeley rejection, congrats to all those admitted! Was expected.
  9. Well, as a lot of people have mentioned here, it is also a financial decision for them. They tend to limit their acceptances vis-à-vis a budget that they have in mind. The Graduate School may give more money and thus they will accept people off the waitlist. Concerning people who reject Princeton, I mean it is highly likely that people who get Princeton, also get Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, and Yale, and that due to fit reasons may prefer one over Princeton.
  10. Wow. I also got a waitlist from Princeton. I understand previous comments have said that WL tend to be more of a financial decision, but if any of you do know if you get an offer elsewhere that you'd accept, please do inform them! I know that most of the other top schools still haven't sent out a decision, so I know you will all take some time. Help out this refugee boy to get into one of the best schools in the world! Anyway, this is probably the best day of my life, good luck everyone!
  11. I think the McGill in Political Theory one is true because there's a girl on Twitter who said she got accepted (just search "McGill" + "PhD"). But she did her MA there so maybe she was told before others?
  12. Received a UChicago rejection (in the portal), congrats to all those who have been accepted!
  13. Anyone here who heard back from UChicago? I'm not sure if the posts on the main site are true if no one is claiming here.
  14. Big big congrats!!! If I may what is your subfield?
  15. Two people added on the thegradcafe that they got into Berkeley. So either that person is also one of them, but if not that is 3 people who got in. Did anyone here hear back? I checked my portal and nothing.
