  1. You don't specify PhD or masters here. I would say you have a high likelihood of getting into a decent Masters program, but little chance for admission to one of the Ph.D. programs listed above.
  2. I got an email from docusign with my offer letter. Haven’t heard anything from the department and no changes in portal.
  3. Claiming the Cincinnati acceptance, I’ll likely decline and accept the better offer I have elsewhere. That closes my application season, excluding the remaining waitlist I am on that I likely will remove myself from. 3A/1W/5R. Wishing everyone the best moving forward and never ending future success in academia.
  4. If you’re set on a PhD after your MA, CIR is essentially a pre-PhD program and sets you up very well for acceptance into a well ranked PhD program following the program. I wouldn’t look at the MA in IR as a drawback because of your previous degree in the field, the rigor of the program shows PhD programs that you have what it takes to succeed in a PhD program. If you have any questions about CIR, I’m free to answer questions.
  5. I was waitlisted there for IR over a month ago after interviewing with them. They said they only accepted 2 people. I would assume that is equal across the subfields and all accepted and waitlisted applicants have been notified.
  6. I know one person who was accepted weeks ago
  7. Claiming Notre Dame rejection. Just waiting on Cincinnati.
  8. I know someone who had DGS email them saying they were waitlisted weeks ago.
  9. Rejected from Ohio State 2A/1W/4R/2P. Cinci is 1 program I’m waiting for. Notre Dame is the other but I’m assuming rejection as they have already sent out offers. Weird cycle, got accepted and waitlisted at the 2 highest ranked schools I applied to, accepted without funding at another, and rejected everywhere else. GRE probably cost me. But I was accepted to my top school so it is what it is.
  10. I don't know if you realized but those are the stats for the music program, I'd assume there is wide variation across departments.
  11. If MAPSS is paid off or very cheap and you go into it knowing you need to build your resume while there in order to use it as a stepping stone I don’t think it’s a bad idea. That being said from what I remember the deadline to give Chicago a decision was May 1, while PhD programs have an April 15 deadline. Why not wait longer before making a decision?
  12. As someone who did a UChicago Masters I would definitely say take the PhD offer, unless it isn’t fully funded. I loved my time at the school, but it is ultimately expensive and redundant if you get into a PhD program later.
  13. Based on the wording of the letters and email exchanges I have had with them it seems so. But I might just be misreading it.
  14. Claiming Cornell acceptance. IR will likely accept the offer. 2A/1W/2R/4P
