I'm incredibly grateful for an offer I received from Wichita St., they have a 3 year program, offered me full funding with a stipend. The program is very interesting due to the fact the GTA's actually lead the classes they teach, as in they are not the assistant, they are the lone teacher. Kind of spooky, but extremely interesting. Also, I love the faculty, and the way the curriculum is structured. I was offered the spot about a month back and have since been holding out my acceptance since I'm waiting to hear back from other schools. At this point, the only remaining I'd consider are Houston, Rutgers, Oregon, and Boise st., but that is only if I get full funding. Wichita reached out to me the other day asking if I was still interested in attending, I assured them I am. Would you recommend I accept the offer from Wichita now? Or should I wait it out just to allow the process to run its course? (I'm most likely attending Wichita due to my interest in the program and the fit regardless, but a part of me feels like I should wait until I know the answer from every school) Thoughts? Thanks.

I posted about this a few days ago, but was just wondering if anyone else applied to Wichita st and/or knows more about the program? I love that it's workshop focused, three years, and has a final year w one on one mentorship from faculty and a visiting artist for thesis project. I was accepted this past Monday, trying to research as much as possible but am not finding a ton of info online about it. anyone also have Wichita st on their radar? Or knows more about the program?

Soooo I got accepted to Wichita St this monday, full funding 3 years with a GTA position. 10k stipend a year (doesn't sound like a ton, but looks like it'll do based on local costs). Still doesn't feel real. I'm waiting on 15 other schools to get back to me, so far it's been 4r 1a. I set up a campus visit already, but im just trying to gather as much information as possible and there's not much about the program online other than what the university website offers for info. Which surprised me since it's the 12th oldest MFA program. Does anyone happen to know anything about Wichita state's program? Or a little about Wichita in general (is it a writing town)? I checked the spreadsheet on draft and I'm the only one to report anything out of Wichita state so I'm just trying to get a read on everything.

Does Mville assist with housing at all? I know its rolling admission so I'm considering applying, but after looking at rent prices in the area, I think I could only realistically go if there was either an on-campus housing option or housing stipend.

First time going through the application process. Submitted to around 20 schools for fiction, mostly fully funded, top choices are Arizona, Boise st, Michener, Oregon, iowa, south carolina, Boston, Wyoming, florida st. I looked for schools that favored time spent in workshop vs classroom. I graduated from DePaul last year from their film program, spent the last year at my parents saving up money and working locally. I've been compulsively checking this site and my email for updates. So nervous. At a weird point where I feel like I need to be around other writers and especially mentors to become who I want to as a writer, put my all into this application process, hoping it pays off... Time will tell. Good luck to all.
