Just got waitlisted to RISD painting. Any advice? Anyone know how long the list is/ acceptance rates for waitlisters?

Did you receive a waitlist email? I had an interview in painting and haven't heard anything since. I thought it went really well, they were excited about my work and they told me to fill out my financial aid forum as soon as possible. I filled it out and submitted before the deadline. I knows schools like Yale and Columbia say the financial aid decision is seperate from the acceptance decision but does RISD? I cannot afford to go to grad school unless I get at least partial funding. I feel like they saw my lack of financial resource and passed on my application...I've heard from other sources online there is a lack of socioeconomic diversity in the RISD mfa program. I also had a similar question towards the end of my interview, asking what kind of opportunities they had for students and they didn't seem to take it well. That was the only thing I felt could've possibly went wrong in the interview. I'm so disappointed since I felt like I did well.

I applied to Columbia Painting and haven't heard anything yet. I saw on previous freakout forms (2022, 2023) people have said: "In previous years, the people in this forum figured out that if the “MFA” disappears in the phrase “2023 Painting MFA” on your Columbia slideroom account then you have been rejected. " Not sure if that’s still true, my "MFA" is still there... lol such a strange way to find out.

I'm also waiting on Columbia and Bard (painting). Not sure I feel like it was around this time, I think Bard might have been slightly later... anyone else know?

Seeing a few rejections for Yale painting today, did anyone get offered an interview? I see someone did in sculpture. The wait continues! I feel like a lot of the decisions will be this week... we're in this together! Stay positive everyone!

I had an interview with RISD for painting on January 24, it was intense but went well I think? They said we'd heard back three weeks from the interviews. Hope that helps!
