  1. That's huge, congrats!
  2. I swear to god! The worst part is that the subject lines always make it sound like it's good news.
  3. My portal just updated with a rejection letter.
  4. Now that'd be an exciting scenario. But yeah my last name is towards the end alphabetically too, so that's likely it. I mean I'm still waiting for JHU to reject me, presumably for the same reason.
  5. Same here. Wonder what that means. Can't imagine it's good news at this point.
  6. Not the literary arts one. I read that article. It's about the theater MFA that run in collaboration with a theater company and they had temporarily paused it after Covid. They're just doubling down on that decision now. Likey doesn't have anything to do with the current administration and not relevant to the literary arts department.
  7. Same. No waitlists so far in the sheet at least
  8. Oh I figured that. I was just worried about the portal not saying "departmental review" or something, and instead just being empty.
  9. Anyone here apply to LSU? My portal has went from showing application status as "graduate school evaluation" to nothing. I can't tell if that's business as usual or if my application is stuck in some sort of limbo.
  10. JHU is so selective even their rejections are only bestowed upon a chosen few
  11. I see. It's not an inappropriate question, it's pretty standard I think. If you do find out, could you post here as well? I'm also curious how selective Alabama was. And thanks and best of luck with your season too!
  12. I haven't gotten the rejection email from them yet, but if you want to know how many applications they received and how many people they accepted, I think you can just ask the MFA director or whoever you got the acceptance call/email from.
  13. Yeah it changed to awaiting decision like a day or two after I submitted. Probably just means the file was forwarded to the adcom.
  14. Yeah I applied to Minnesota too and haven't heard back. Based on last year's data though, they seem to send their waitlists much later so maybe there's still hope for that. It seems like such nice program.
  15. Congratulations on the waitlist!
  16. Next Tuesday I'm checking my email an extra 100 times just to be sure then
  17. I'm also with you on this hope-ium. But if they're late that could also mean they got more than usual number of fiction apps this cycle. That's also a little scary.
  18. Wasn't VT's deadline on 21st January this year? That's just a couple of days ago. It seems like there might or might not be interviews too, based on the automated email from the program director.
  19. That seems unlikely to me. Looking at last year's spreadsheet, people did update on the spreadsheet on the same day or the day after they received fiction waitlists from UIUC. They're probably just late this year for whatever reason.
  20. I think it's supposed to be 1-2 pages. And you could maybe send your recommenders this article if they're not familiar with writing rec letters for MFAs: https://kendalldunkelberg.com/2022/02/12/advice-on-writing-letters-of-recommendation-for-the-mfa-in-creative-writing/#:~:text=It should be written like, with it, in other words
  21. Woah what does that mean?
  22. I've been wondering about that too. Especially because all the Wyoming acceptances/waitlists I saw on draft were nonfiction or hybrid and none for fiction.
