Mine says before 10th of May! And I have ongoing courses maybe that's why.
They'll need to confirm the number of people accepting their offer and send it to the faculty of graduate studies! The faculty of graduate studies will be the ones who update the portal and make changes to the system so that we can pay the deposit.

UBC BA with my major in speech sci - i don’t know if they prefer UBC students specifically but they do have policies where 90% of the seats have to go to people living in the province/ nearby!

Also got into UBC slp!!
I’ll be declining my UofA acceptance as UBC is my first choice so that should open up a spot for someone on the waitlist!!

I just got a positive email from UBC! I'm an Aud applicant so those waiting for decisions regarding the SLP program should hear from them soon. Best of luck everyone!!

Im from BC, my GPA isnt very strong but I have good references and volunteer with disabled children and work as a counsellor with youth right now. I am very curious about how many people get waitlisted!

It can be due to a lot of reasons. One of my friends believes that he got rejected for a master's program (not SLP) because of the reference letters. He kept a copy of them because he ended up not applying to one of the schools. Sadly one of the referees whom he took a class from and got an A+ literally expressed her confusion as to why my friend would look for a reference letter from her. She didn't say any good stuff about my friend. This can be part of the reason.
It can also be about what every school values the most. For example, UofT and UBC value research experiences more, UofA values EDI experiences and overall profile more, etc.
From what you said, I think your profile is pretty competitive, so I have no idea what has gone wrong.
BUT, from someone in another thread, being rejected doesn't mean you're not good enough or SLP isn't for you. Sometimes you're just unlucky, with a lot of highly competitive applicants applying in the same cycle.

Still waiting for UBC here! Last year people got offers on April 3rd for audiology and 6th for slp.

Last year acceptances started on the 1st but the majority of people found out on the 6th and rejections were around the 12th - audiology usually comes out first. Not sure how the Easter long weekend and the addition of the Victoria cohort will affect the timeline though. The wait is killing me haha!

Does anyone else’s U of A portal still say their application is in the “pre-screening” stage?

How do you know what the cut-off was?
And I find this post helpful when stressing about my GPA, its from earlier this year: " I got immediately rejected from Mac (my sGPA was too low to even get an interview) yet I got an acceptance from U of T April 1st. I also got 3 waitlists, McGill, Western and Dal, yet I only got off the waitlist for Dal. There was NO way for me to have predicted these results if I compared my sGPA to other people I assure you." Just basically saying try not to focus on your GPA as its hard to tell what schools are looking for!

Yes! I also had a problem with the GSMS saying I had "required actions" and I was really worried it meant my application documents wouldn't be considered but I was able to email and the advisor got back to me really quickly! The advisor can confirm they have all the documents on their end so it wouldn't hurt to just email them and mention your problem!

I would maybe email the advising email? Mine also said I had required actions when I submitted my application but it went away a few weeks ago. What stage is your application at? My “required actions” went away when my application was moved to the pre screening step.
