  7. Hi I'm reapplying this year again too. As for the statement, what one of my professors recommended was to write a new statement, even if nothing much has changed in regards to your practice, because after all, a year has gone by and by that time you have likely changed as well as your perception and views on your own work, or the theoretical framework etc. And if you then still prefer the "old version" of your statement, you can still just leave it as is. As for the others, it really is just personal preference ig and what the school is asking for in a portfolio specifically. Either way, good luck for this years application!
  8. Hi, from what I've heard so far na from what's been said in info sessions, the portfolio is the most important part of the application. The GPA only matters in the decision if it's a tight race in terms of admission. Same goes for the scholarship as far as I'm concerned. That is ofc if you're within the set minimum GPA of the department (which is usually stated somewhere on their homepage). That all also depends to which department you're applying to. That is just what I heard from MFA Fine Arts (painting and drawing) Hope this helps a bit
  9. hi Is there anyone who was waitlisted before and then reapplied and got in the following year? If so, any tips on how to make the application better? dd you change your portfolio a lot or just reapplied with the same documents and all? thanks so much an advance for any help
  10. Applying again after last year. Was sadly only put on waitlist and didn't get into any programs so I'm going to try again this year. Not too surprised by that since I had no idea what I was doing and what to expect either. But If anyone has some tips on how to improve my portfolio or for the interview I'd be much appreciated :))
  11. Hi I have a question, this cycle was my first applying to any MFA programs so I was new to this whole experience and didn't know what to expect. Sadly, I've been either only rejected or waitlisted from all universities that I applied to. Either way, does anyone have any experience with being waitlisted and how long the wait is until I get a final notification? I am an international applicant too, so I can't just really wait and see until late August to make a decision, since I do also have to plan a bit into the future regarding job opportunities or other educational paths I might take. Any kind of advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you
  12. Is anyone else also still waiting for some decisions or replies? It feels like it's been forever 🙃
  13. I am also still waiting for a response from Pratt since its been dead silence on their part so ig I should email them too huh...🙂
  14. nope, haven't heard anything yet either. they really are taking their sweet time ig
  15. Hi I have only now been invited for an interview for NYU studio art. Since I have been rejected from all other schools or waitlisted from the ones I did interviews with, I just wanted to ask if someone has tips for a more successful interview? I did schedule a zoom interview since I am an international student and am unfortunately unable to attend in person.
  16. first of all congratulations for getting into the program!! I can't speak for an MFA but I am also an international student and when I was applying for BFA programs in NYC, I emailed the universities if they could help me out some more financially, in addition to my scholarship. and to my surprise they gave me a quite generous grant of 20k a year, however they did not increase the scholarship amount (that was at SVA tho). I just emailed them straightforward describing my financial situation and they immediately gave me a grant so I would just try and asking for more financial support
