ahhh I just got a “probably not” from my waitlist. with that, I’m finally done with this season! I was quite nervous since this was my second round, but my last school ended up being an acceptance so I’m very grateful to be done. I’ve really appreciated the community here, good luck to everyone else who’s waiting

I totally forgot I even applied to Notre Dame before reading this post lol, but fr it’s not fun waiting lol

UNLV is the last one for me too and I’m scared haha…. 2 more weeks tops!

I didn’t either, I’m wondering if they sent an email asking for an update? if not then that does seem like it’s probably a good sign for them!

I really wish schools didn’t have to send out rejection emails twice lol (once with an email and once with a portal update)

uw and u of oregon for me!! last year I think they notified late for unlv fiction (like end of march??) so I’m wondering if they’re going to follow that again

I’m assuming they’re done with acceptances, but it looks like they also staggered waitlists and rejections. Based on the number of waitlists the previous years, I’d be surprised if there were none on draft this year?

that seems likely, I haven’t gotten anything for fiction yet either

Iowa waitlists, Brown, University of Oregon, and UVA! It’s a scary week haha

ooh that’s interesting and honestly kinda impressive that sam presumably goes through all of the manuscripts herself then? I also wonder if this means we’ll be seeing waitlists soon since all the acceptances are out

I think they still stagger them sometimes 😕 so it depends on the school! in my experience, some generic decisions were staggered by minutes while others were staggered by weeks...

congrats on almost being done!! it’s interesting how different schools and people’s cycles line up. I still have 7 left to hear from (and one didn’t notify until late march last year) so just 1 more month…

this is such a mood, the hope is helpful in some ways but also makes the whole process hurt a lot more? honestly it’s not a perfect solution, but I put time limits on the forums/spreadsheet etc because my screen time was actually getting ridiculous and I felt like I wasn’t really living life because I was just waiting? (so at least now I can only physically spend 30 mins checking…) it’s also been helpful to start looking at other applications (jobs, lit mags, etc). I don’t think it means we have to give up hope entirely, last year I knew someone who got rejected everywhere then got into their dream school late march. but it’s also good to have other things to be excited about! (and I’m sorry if this came off as preachy at all, I’ve just been thinking about it a lot lately because of my own brain shenanigans haha)

anyone else waiting for notre dame this week? based on last year’s sheet and the poetry interviews last week I’m thinking fiction might be coming up soon…

really just trying to hold onto the “it only takes one” mentality right now… but honestly the one thing giving me hope is that hearing people’s anecdotes and looking at the spreadsheet, while there are definitely people who get acceptances across the board there are also people who only get into iowa! so it’s not over til it’s over

yeahh like maybe she had a list of people she wanted to call today and started with the east coast out of those people? I agree with the others saying that it seems odd that we wouldn’t have seen them on draft, if I’ve been doing the math correctly it seems like around 40-60% of the results end up on the spreadsheet. unless they explicitly said not to share the information publicly?
