UCSD update! Preliminary interviews have happened, but final decisions haven’t gone out.

Nope, nothing yet. Thank you for the positive vibes 😭🙏🏽 Honestly, I might give them a call because I’m up against a lease renewal decision.

I caved and emailed UCSD the other day and haven’t gotten a response. I’m assuming a soft rejection, but am also wondering if federal funding cuts have anything to do with a potential delay.

Well, well, well…one good thing that has come out of this neurosis inducing wait is some interesting future project brainstorming. I think I’ve also read/started reading about 4-5 different books and plays in the last couple of weeks to channel my nervous energy 🫠 My most recent read was Jeremy O. Harris’s abbreviated version of Yell: A Documentary of My Time Here (available for free on n+1 mag’s website ❗️) . I need a full debrief after that one lol. Anyone else reading or watching anything great?

You’re not alone! I’ve also gotten a soft rejection from Northwestern and haven’t heard anything yet from UCSD, Yale, or Brown. Although, my UCSD portal has changed my app status from “submitted” to “under review.”

Congrats! Lol I’ve been trying to distract myself without success 🙃 still haven’t heard from any schools yet. Admittedly, my Northwestern app was a bit of a mess, but I’m remaining hopeful for the other three schools 😬

Hey y’all! Longtime lurker and first time poster. This is my first cycle applying and I’m trying not to check my email 50,000 times per day 🥲 I applied to Yale, Brown, UCSD, and Northwestern.
