Oh dang I didn’t know they all said that, I saw yesterday someone was bummed over how short their Iowa rejection was and maybe (embarrassingly) got overly excited haha ETA I think it’s really cool of Sam to hand sign so many rejections, shows respect for applicants. But very disrespectful to deadname you, I’m sorry they did that. That’s disappointing of them for sure

I got a personalized rejection from Iowa🥹honestly the best I was realistically hoping for in this process. Says my manuscript was very well received by some readers and they hope I will apply again. Very encouraging to continue growing as a writer

Is anybody who was waitlisted/accepted at Iowa willing to share what their manuscript was about? As a public service to help us rejects’ self esteem so we can tell ourselves that we just “didn’t fit into the cohort they were developing this year” lol! Huuuuge congratulations to you all!! What an insane achievement- I would frame the waitlist letter!

Congratulations!! What a dream, and nice to find out on a Saturday. I hope you’re able to celebrate spectacularly. Would you be able to share long do you have to accept the offer officially? I’m wondering if they wait to send out the rejections, because they extend more offers if anyone has to reject theirs. Otherwise I feel like they would do the kindness of sending out their rejections much sooner lol

Does everyone’s Iowa application status say “To inquire about your application status please contact your department.” Under where it says “In Progress” ? Had a middle of the night stress moment about sending my application materials, and now looking for validation that this doesn’t mean they threw away my application lol
