  1. I think I'm out of luck, but I figured that I'd ask to see if anyone had any insight. For some reason I never saved the pdf of my reviews from last years application, I just looked at it online. Now that they've switched to officially accepting applications for 2012 when I look in the "See my reviews" (or whatever it's called) button in my account and it doesn't have my review from last year anymore. I remember all of the general comments from the reviews, but it would be nice to read through them again. Does anyone know how to get access to old reviews after the new round of applications has started?
  2. HSBC is probably your best best as it actually has a full branch location on campus and one ATM right in the student center. As for cellphone carrier, there's no right answer. All carriers have great service up here so go for whichever you want.
  3. Applied as a senior Bioengineering student before my PhD. (IM/BI) #1 VG/G #2 VG/VG --- No award or HM offered Both reviewers mentioned that they loved pretty much every part of my grades/research experience/etc., but that the only issue that they had was that I didn't have any publications or presentations (I suspect the latter was a bigger issue than the former). I mentioned that I was expected to be a co-author on at least two papers by the time I graduate, but I think that the fact that I never did any formal poster sessions/presentations came back to bite me. On my broader impacts, they liked that I participated in STEM outreach activities, and they felt that I exemplified a clear passion for bringing science to a broader audience. However, one reviewer (the Good scorer) mentioned that they would like to see more leadership roles being taken, and that I should try to integrate teaching and my research more closely. The other reviewer (the Very Good scorer) mentioned that I didn't make my plans for future educational outreaches clear. Hope this info might help anyone in the future!
  4. So after submitting two of my applications for grad school, I was preparing the third application's CV (I submitted my CV under Additional Info sections) when I found out that somehow I misspelled curriculum ("Cirriculum") in heading of my CV, so it's in a slightly larger font than usual . It didn't show up in the spell check since it was in Small Caps, and myself as well as everyone who read over my CV and myself didn't manage to catch it during the numerous reads of my CV. I contacted both of the schools to inquire aboout how I would go about submitting an "updated" CV, and both mentioned that this document wouldn't replace my old CV, it would just be added to my file. This puts me in a wierd position. On one hand, if I leave the typo in the CV, the professors might not catch it, as they could just glance at the document and recognize from the formatting that it's a CV, subsequently just scanning through to find the info of interest. I mean, if a few professors who were reading through my CV more stringently didn't catch it, then maybe I can assume that professors wouldn't catch it easily. On the same hand, the professor could see the typo, but then again - if a professor isn't interested in me because of the typo, then I don't know if I'd want to work with him/her. On the other hand, I could submit an updated version with other updates added to the CV besides the spelling change, but this might cause the typo to be more noticeable since there will be two copies. However, by submitting a correction, it might show that I recognized that there was a mistake and fixed it instead of just letting it slide. What do you guys think? I'm kinda torn here and I'm not making any headway.
