Just to follow up on this because a few people dmed me, Ole Miss is taking more students than usual this year. As far as I know we are taking 6 fiction and 5 poetry instead of the usual 4 each.

My gpa was a 2.9, and I got into my fully funded program last year. Most schools have an option to explain any circumstances around why your gpa might be lower.

If anyone wants to talk about Ole Miss, waitlisted, accepted, whatever... I'm just very excited to know our new people already.

Hello! I forgot about this forum after getting into my program last year, but was reminded of it when the head of my program started asking us to get in contact with accepted students to answer questions. very exciting and congrats to all! I just wanted to say, this was a major reason I picked my program last year! I feel like a lot of my application process was confusion and lack of communication from these schools which, especially when on the waitlist, made me feel like just a number. I ended up accepting my position before waiting to see about my other waitlists because of how responsive, communicative, and welcoming I found them to be throughout the process. I think that's continued since being here. But yeah, my first impression influenced me for sure and I don't really regret that.

Sorry to report our cohort is full at Ole Miss, we've all been introduced to each other already.

I told Ole Miss I was committing and they said they'd send me my contract yesterday, so I figured I'd take myself off my waitlists after. But I haven't gotten any contract or heard back yet 👀 so now I'm overthinking it.

If you want to hear anything from the current students they've connected me to, feel free to DM! It feels like a really fast decision to me now, I can't imagine if you were to get in after April 15th and had to decide.

I was accepted off the waitlist last night! I'm very excited, emailing my other waitlists today to try to get a clearer picture. Three days to decide!

Every day I wake up at 6am ET to go work at a high school and immediately start my day of impatiently checking for updates far far before anyone else, especially in other time zones, is even awake to start making them. If I didn't work so early I would be impatient for so much less time. But every day my brain is like what if someone in Boise is starting their day at 4am. I have been refreshing for five hours and they probably just got to work.

Ooh if you do let me know what they say. I'm still waiting for them and Boise as my only ones marked not soft rejections at this point.

Hi! Just wanted to say, I sent an email asking for updates and reiterating my interest to all four of my waitlists and UTK is the only one that didn't respond within the hour. I haven't gotten any responses from them since that first email. I replied to that original email they sent me, so maybe try the portal? I haven't done that yet.
