  1. Yeah I also applied for Boise and heard nothing.
  2. Lol me and like four of my coworkers just spent three professional development lectures making sure we thought it sounded okay. Also, prefacing, I am new to all of this! It was really simple: Hi ___, I just wanted to reach out and reiterate my continued interest in your program. I was wondering if there are any updates on the waitlist. I also want to affirm that if I get off the waitlist, I will most likely accept. If you would like any new information from me, please let me know. Thanks again,
  3. I just reached out to my waitlisted schools to see if they had any updates and reaffirm my interest. Miami Ohio and Ole Miss both said no updates, and ASU said one person accepted and the other four are pending. UTK hasn't replied yet.
  4. Boise and SIU every day I wait for you.
  5. I love the walkability convo, I don't drive so that was like a huge part of where I applied. That and if it was a free application through Americorps.
  6. Oops replied to this before seeing that literally everyone else already had answered lol, they all probably know more than my brother, he doesn't know what's going on half the time!
  7. Idk how helpful this is but my little brother just graduated from undergrad there and none of his friends had a car, they all were fine with the campus community even in their off campus apartments. It's it's own little area. And they're all bougie business majors lol.
  8. I hope there's movement! I'm also feeling pretty good about my waitlists, I'm thinking maybe this week I should reach back out and reiterate my interest? Also really hoping to hear back from those last couple pending schools, it seems like it's cutting it really close! I have to plan a bridal shower this month too so it's feeling like a lot going on.
  9. Boise, Notre Dame, SIU, and WVU.
  10. Guyssss, I just got a Pitt rejection. Are they making moves? 👀
  11. That's insane. I also applied for them. Ugh, what a shitty year to be applying for these programs. I'm a college counselor in a low income area and I'm really worried about my undocumented students this year, even just compared to last year things are so much worse. These are kids that have been here since they were babies, and there's drastically less options than before. I can't imagine it's going to get better as things go on. Programs like these are nervous, they don't want to take any chances.
  12. Every day I wake up at 6am EST and check the time in Idaho and go "okay, it's far too early for them to send anything now," and then check it periodically for the rest of the day wondering what they're up to two hours in the past.
  13. I think I'm good waiting to hear from the waitlists until April 15th, that makes sense. I just want to hear from the schools I still haven't heard from yet! I want to know what all my options are!
  14. Ole Miss is four fiction writers and four poets per year.
  15. Has anyone reached out to Boise State and asked them if they're putting out decisions soon?
  16. Yes, Pitt is Pittsburgh. I appreciate that, I'm not on Draft. Yeah, they sent out an email to everyone who applied about funding being paused. I guess I was assuming they'd unpause but maybe that's not true. Sad.
  17. Thank you, me too!! If you mean accepted, their program is four people, but on the waitlist I don't know. I will ask when I reach out again and let everyone know.
  18. That's a great idea! I'll float that by my recommenders, see what they suggest. I was going to ask my best friend Leslie Epstein lol what he thinks of the programs I get accepted to, but I don't want to do it yet. He's always brutally honest, so that's helpful.
  19. How do you write a signature? That seems smart.
  20. I haven't! Miami said I was top of the waitlist, so I really appreciate that, and I have family in Ohio. But I've really appreciated how communicative and responsive Ole Miss has been. Their program is REALLY small though, I'm wondering if it's too small for me. It's also really important to me I'm somewhere I can conceivably walk around, because I don't drive. Tennessee and Arizona both seem like such great areas. I have to do more research on all of them. I'm updating my recommenders today about my results and asking them if they think I should pick one and tell them they're my top choice. I also don't want to get my heart set on a school and then not get off the waitlist! I'm just not sure on the protocol, I don't want to bother the schools.
  21. Good morning, I'm still here! I'm waiting for Boise, Pitt, and SIU still! I'm also debating currently if I should be picking a favorite of my waitlists and emailing them and telling them that if I got in I'd 100% go, or if I should just wait.
  22. I have no clue. If there's nothing reported for fiction, I guess it'll leave it open on my insane spreadsheet tho!
  23. Thank you!! I was pretty sure that's what it meant, I'm just not sure which have gone out yet Okay, good to know, thank you! I thought Boise was still waiting. Maybe we'll hear today still. I'll mark Notre Dame as probably off. I was kinda hoping for that one, my little cousin just got in there for undergrad and it would've been so fun to be there with him.
  24. I'm not really sure what's a soft r, I'm pretty new to this forum. I'm still waiting on Boise State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, SIU, USC, and West Virginia. I'm currently waitlisted at Arizona State, Miami University, Ole Miss, and UTK.
  25. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but does anyone know how much time a school would give you to decide if you want to accept a waitlist offer? I know accepted students have to decide by the 15th but what about if you don't hear until after the 15th? I'm realizing I don't know a lot about the minutiae of the process, I'm 25 and this is my first time applying for any type of grad school program.
