  1. Hello everybody Similar transparency to the others - I've applied to the following PhDs: Northwestern & UC Berkeley (Performance Studies); Stanford, Brown, & Columbia (TAPS); Cambridge (English). Also additional transparency about stats: I'm American with a BA English (2:1), MA Theatre Criticism (1st), and an MFA Dramaturgy (3.98). My interest is primarily in the intersection of global politics and performance, with a particular focus on devising practices and works that stage violent histories (shout out to Milo Rau). Looks like the first round of rejections for UC Berkeley went out yesterday, but I haven't received anything, so I'm guessing I'm still in the running (fingers crossed). All other apps are crickets, but if each of the programs I listed are following previous patterns, I'm expecting to hear about interviews next week, or rejections the first week of February.
  2. @kalenbobalen Oh, I'd applied through the communication department for performance studies. So, sounds like we might have different applications. Thanks for your clarification though!
  3. Anyone else apply to Northwestern? Checked my app today and the status under "Checklist" says "materials needed" - which is very weird because on my end all required materials and recommendations are marked as received. Emailed the grad admissions officer to double check because based on previous cycles interview invitations should be coming out this week or next, and I would be so gutted if I wasn't considered because my application was received as incomplete. In other news, no other updates from any of the other unis I applied to, but we've entered that period where interviews start to come out and stress is at its peak and probably will be for the next month or so. Best of luck to you all!
  4. @cb1889 the only place I know of is on this site where you can type in the university and degree level. Once interviews, acceptances, rejections, etc. start coming out people typically add their results here at this link: https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/ - you can also see previous year's results. From what I've seen, typically interview requests start getting sent out in mid to late January
  5. Applying to 6 PhD programs this cycle and have two left to submit in early January. Hoping I get into at least one program so I don't need to do this process again. I'm finish my MA right now and doing these applications while drafting my thesis...holy Lord, I've been stressed in ways I never even imagined.
