if the director of a program hasn't responded to me emails about WL movement by tuesday or wednesday morning, should i reach out to the assistant director? or is that doing too much?

WL'd originally in late Feb and expressed that it's my top choice, emailed approx. 2 weeks ago to check in about movement but stressed at the end of the email that they could wait until later to respond and they haven't responded lol, so i guess the 4/08 email will be a follow-up to that one. i don't want to be a bother but i have other programs who putting some light pressure on me to make a decision, which i totally understand, and want to be able to communicate honestly to all parties involved.

i don't have advice but i'm planning on doing my follow-up on 4/08.

does anyone know anything about the washu waitlist or state of the cohort 😕

also just wondering if anyone else is feeling this way.

how do u guys know if you should re-apply next year after getting fully-funded offers? i got some good ones but im feeling weird and i can't tell if it means its about fit or if im just nervous and this process has taken its toll on me.

im so sorry. i wonder why everyone committed this year??? i guess it happens. on a few waitlists as well and it's such torture, i hate to think that the programs might experience no movement at all, but it's a real possibility and i feel like i need to change my mindset. editing to say that it's crazy both fiction and cnf had no movement at all. didn't apply to VCU but curious about that for sure

im really not a fan of the "ongoing admission" process. i wish i just had formal confirmation from Notre Dame, JHU, and Hunter. I have other offers but it sure would be good to get a full sense of things before making commitments. Is JHU even an "ongoing admissions" thing? i don't think so. AH

am I going crazy, or has there not been as much waitlist movement this year as it seems there was at this time last year, at least according to draft?

cant wait to get my JHU rejection literally on April 15th I guess??? it's pissing me off how long they're taking.

also - sounds like this is someone who only got into Columbia...notoriously easier to be accepted to and not actually one of the "best" MFAs since they want you to pay your life savings. LOL i think the joke will be on them, but I would still advise them not to pay for an MFA since that's just the kind of gal I am

pleasseee it does sound the same. i think he will be disappointed when/if he matriculates from his MFA and has made no friends, no great connections, and rather than "pissed a lot of people off" with his mediocre work, his peers will probably just roll their eyes and go hang out somewhere without him. there's your writing community, @JUSTVERDE, you sound like the worst, fuck you and your mentee. your poetry aint so great either my friend. count yourself lucky if you did get into an MFA and try to be kind and normal, that's my advice to you.

i was kind of relieved lol now i can just have a chill summer job before starting my MFA. i don't really want to be workshopping in the summer too😅

its all so subjective. ive gotten 4 offers and 4 waitlists but rejected from the Tin House/MWC Summer Workshop LOL. hope this gives everyone some perspective
