  1. Thinking that I'm going to take myself off of the waitlist for Oregon State (poetry), found out I got fulbright so that seems like the better option right now lol
  2. I feel like I just saw someone talk about this on the FB group! Someone got off the TA funding waitlist after being accepted into the program
  3. Does anyone know of the status of the BU poetry cohort?
  4. Yay congrats! I’m on the waitlist and really hoping one of the 8 accepted has received another incredible offer and decides not to attend BU, but who knows who they would pick from the waitlist. 🥹
  5. Good News: I'm nominated for a poetry showcase and found out one of my poems will be published in an anthology!!! It honestly feels kind of surreal, especially as my undergrad is coming to an end—I just feel really lucky. I was also surprisingly able to share this update with a program I’m waitlisted at, so we’ll see!
  6. Hi! Thank you! I don’t mind at all. I submitted my application on January 7, so about a week before the deadline if I am remembering correctly. Here is what part of the waitlist email said: The poetry faculty of Boston University’s MFA Program in Creative Writing has read your application with much interest and has placed you on a short, unranked waitlist. We have a strong record of accepting poets off our waitlist and watching them flourish in our program — we genuinely hope that we will be able to offer you a seat in our poetry cohort. —————————————————————— there was some additional information about funding if I am accepted to the program and a a general outline of how courses and credits work. The director also put me into contact with an alum of the program who is now the Creative Writing Administrator! I’m sorry that I don’t have much more information!
  7. I do know that waitlists have been sent out, maybe not all, but some. I saw someone on the FB group say they were waitlisted on 2/28, and I received one on 3/16. Not sure if this is helpful at all. Good luck!
  8. One poetry waitlist for Iowa on spreadsheet just dropped. Congrats to that person!
  9. I think these are great ideas. I have yet to hear from a few schools and am on the poetry waitlist for Oregon state so I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but I’m really looking forward to hearing back from Fulbright to see if that’s the next step rather than grad school. All I can think about is the great poetry that could come out of that experience! I think in our current world we have to accept that things can’t always happen in a linear manner, especially with a lack of funding and resources. It will eventually happen!
  10. That was me 😕 I’m really glad there’s some people sharing the same feeling regarding this, but I agree, I don’t feel as discouraged as I thought I would. I keep thinking about what I can do next to inspire new ideas! I hope next round is more of a positive outcome for you!
  11. It was just a simple email from the program director, the usual "we regret to inform you"
  12. Just got rejected, so right about now lol
  13. Found out tonight that I'm on the Oregon State waitlist for poetry! After so many rejections, this makes me feel like there is a chance!
  14. Okay, side question: when do JHU rejections come out? Like, why do I feel like I have been waiting for years?
