  1. artandrelig - Thanks for the blurb! However it doesn't seem like the two statements are necessarily related. The Wiki makes it seem like secularism is antithetical to ministry and that belief is antithetical to academia. I'd expect a more ministry-oriented program to feature more classes and programs in pastoral care, missions, etc. rather than more "believer" faculty.
  2. @artandrelig, Can you post the Wikipedia link or tell where to find that kind of ranking?

    New Haven, CT

I've got questions about moving to New Haven for Divinity School too. I'll be moving with my wife, and we want to rent an apt. in a safe neighborhood. I know everyone says don't live in New Haven because it's not safe, but proximity to the school is important. What is the neighborhood breakdown? I've heard that living in unsafe parts of New Haven is risking your life, so what are the safer neighborhoods? Which neighborhoods are unsafe?
  4. I'd like to do a PhD in Early Christian Studies. I want to do a concentrated MAR in Bible pursuant to it. What do plan to do with your MDiv?
  5. academiccricket- Thanks for your response. Where did you you do your MA in Jewish Studies?
  6. I'm getting ready to send in my application for a concentrated MAR at Yale, and I'd appreciate someone in the know ballparking my chances: undergrad Classics major, have studied Latin & Greek for 4 years. Hebrew for 2 Great recommendations, on of whom is a Cambridge prof. with whom I did a supervision two summers ago Have spoken to a Yale professor I'd like to work with 3.35 GPA. GRE v. 750 q. 660 a.w. 5.5 3 yrs of experience as research assistant Research grant Two publications in student journals. I'm a very good writer, so I don't expect the presonal statement or essay to be a problem, but I am uncomfortable with my GPA. Will it hurt or will other things make up for it? I'm also applying for MTS at Harvard, Notre Dame, and Emory, and an MA at GTU.
