  1. This is true, but I can't seem to edit my post or poll to change anything. Do you know of a way to edit posts? I hope everyone will just specify what level they are at. For the poll, it was intended to be just publications. But I am interested in how many presentations/conferences as well.
  2. Hi everyone, I was wondering if those who are currently, or have been in the past, graduate students or research assistants (after undergrad) could tell me what number of publications they had when they were awarded their PHDs, or alternatively, what number of publications they had when they finished their term as lab manager or research assistant at a lab before graduate school. Also, if you had publications before applying to grad school and were accepted directly out of undergrad, please share that info too.
  3. watson, can you PM me info about those RA listings? I'm also on the listserv, but I haven't received much at all. I would really appreciate it.
  4. I wouldn't mind reading it for you. Also, have you had a professor look over your SOP for you? They know what's expected.
  5. You can find the Nova book online for free (ie illegally), but I can't direct you to that for obvious reasons. Personally, I think that you don't need to worry about math so much. Use the books you have, use the ETS practice book, and take the Powerprep test. In my experience, it is most predictive. If you score in the top range, then you are likely fine.
  6. I agree with you. I was planning on using Interfolio until I saw how many of the school requested that an online form is used. Some of them also require that the LOR is on letterhead. However, if a professor can submit the letter to Interfolio on their letterhead, then it might work for some of the programs. It really depends on where you apply. If you are only applying to programs where they have no preference for how the LOR is submitted, then definitely use the service.
