  1. yupp, on 29th... btw the stanford website lists 6th march as the deadline by which all decisions would be released... there is still hope, at least till the end of this week... all the best
  2. Have stanford(EE) MS results been released? Any info?
  3. I don't know why aren't they sending me the email, the POI emailed me about 10 days ago(upon my asking) that I would be hearing back soon, and that he had personally reviewed my package, however the entire review process was not complete at that time...what do you guys think? Is there any hope left?
  4. Have all the acceptance/rejection results been released or is there any lot left?
  5. I am pretty sure it's fake... still desperately hoping someone proves me wrong
  6. yes these are different departments at stanford, and the cs results were released some days ago... the only news I have is the one I shared two posts above( POI mail, and previous trends).... no wonder if today would make it or break it for stanford, keeping the trend and POI email in mind....
  7. any new??? the wait is killing me...
  8. sorry to say but a rejection is most likely, waitlist is euphemism for that, a little consolation that one was good enough, there werent much slots..and as fleur pointed out a long wait with very small probability of getting in...
  9. well, did some research on the EE admission trend at stanford, it seems that the phd admits would get a double treat on valentine's day, while those offered MS admission (waitlisted for phd) will have to wait till the end of the week(17th Feb), a few more waitlisted ones would be informed the next week .... and here come the rejects on march 2.
  10. I did see a few stanford rejects today but those were from cs, so I guess they'll start dropping the bombs by the end of next week
  11. congrats! so MIT CS results are out, wonder when would EE results be released(most probably today)
  12. review process almost complete, heard from a POI who just reviewed my package, said that I would be hearing back soon....
  13. prepared for the worst and would take it as a bonus if I get in...
  14. not yet... fingers crossed... anyways heard that berkeley eecs results have been released (incase anyone has applied to berkeley)
  15. well, the grad admission committee meetings at MIT are finally over, ended friday last week... found out on the official link... most of the admits would be emailed on feb 9 - feb 10, 2012 http://eecscal.mit.edu/Pages/CalendarViews/MonthView.aspx?RoomId=3&Date=2%2f6%2f2012+12%3a00%3a00+AM
  16. yeah good luck to you too and everybody else on this forum...
  17. machine learning** sorry I meant computer vision
  18. yeah I guess there was one 'research field' in the application option but I guess you'd fall in Artificial Intelligence if machine learning is your thing, atleast in MIT terminology your area should be area II, while the first-choice research field would be AI.... confusing isnt it? ... thx and well yes the conferences are well-reputed....
  19. @Fleur, kazemipour what're your areas? @zhangerpai goodluck with your application @kazemipour I am undergrad....
  20. Hey Fleur, yeah good news it is! and I couldnot hope more to hope to have the result by the end of next week as the first release consists of the admits... and lol about your comment(you missed biology though) , I guess I would also fall a prey to the 'overjoyed repeat syndrome' if I get an admit ...
  21. As far as I know, Stanford decision comes out rather late compared to MIT, Berkeley which could be as early as first week of feb. I guess Stanford would release the bulk of acceptance' in the second half of feb. As for important factors, well entrepreneurship experience/competitions even at undergrad level is most appreciated at stanford(famous for startups), but keep in mind that this is in addition to the general factors required to make it to the top5 schools i.e research experience(and/or papers),statement,LORs, GRE,match of chemistry with the faculty(which I guess decides our fate as most of the competitors have more or less the same profiles), last but not least luck!!! A string of hope to cling on to : The batch size at stanford is larger compared to other topnotch schools... more slots...
