  1. Here's the story, I've applied to PhD anthro and I've been accepted to NYU at the end. My brother applied to LLM McGill but he doesn't believe in this website. He's so unnerved these days so I decided to get some info on his behalf because unlike him I DO rely on the majority of the info coming from these forums and I do appreciate their coordinators and all of the applications sharing their info. I truly appreciate your time. Will keep you updated,
  2. Hi there, Thanks for your posting. Foremost congrats on your acceptance, that's wonderful. When did you hear your notification and what was the method of notification? Do you think no news is bad news or what? All the best
  3. Hi everyone, Any words from McGill LLM degree? They're getting my shit together.
  4. Hi sweetheart, Plz excuse my biting straightforwardness. I hate to put it this way but I think you should accept your other offers. As far as I've been informed all the admits and waitlists were notified unofficially a couple of weeks ago and officially last week. I've not heard a word from Michigan but that's certainly a rejection, Wish you good luck,
  5. Bonjour mon ami(e) Parisien(ne), It's so funny that we almost applied to the same roster of schools. Tell me where you got accepted to. You know, neither of your conjectures is right! I have neither sixth sense or really good insider's info. I was just in very good contact with a couple of scholars like many other applicants. I'm still not sure if decisions are made or what! I already wrote to my POI and withdrew my application for only one reason. I thought that would be ethically so wrong and inhumane for those who might be waitlisted if I'm admitted. Honestly, I thought I could get in JHU but I may be wrong. I was so out-stressed during the waitlist era and when I saw our Zoe (our friend)'s post, I decided to withdraw my application quickly. You have no idea Zoe how much I'd be happy if you get in JHU since you already have no other offers. I also didn't like to turn down an offer after it's given to me since I kinda felt committed to my POI at JHU. I'm apparently one very rare applicant who gets content if admitted to only one of their top choices. I was so happy when I was rejected by Yale since I'd already decided to accept NYU's offer and the fact that Yale had always been my first choice was pressurizing me to death, how on earth I could turn down on my POI. We're almost at the end of this nervy application season and I wish good luck for all those who still wait! Love to all,
  6. Thank you Zoe! I'll be rooting for you, Do you have any offers already?
  7. Don't worry Zoe13 at all. I don't mean to be arrogant but I personally believe I'm going to be admitted. That's much too idiotic to consider myself as a reference but my gut feeling says you shouldn't begin to fret at this stage. Actually I planned on withdrawing my application before the decisions are made. I don't promise but I may spy some recondite info for you. Stay tuned, is my biggest advice to you. You'd hate me if you go back and review my posts before I got accepted to NYU. Fingers crossed on your JHU acceptance
  8. Hey friend, I'm very happy your MIT interviews went well. I'm so looking forward to hearing your offer of admission. If I were you, I'd prefer MIT to Chicago. It's a wonderful multifaceted program, We'll have champagne together, To our friend's success with MIT (cheers)
  9. Congrats on the waitlist offer. Not so sure if that helps but I've also been waitlisted but since I accepted my NYU's offer, I turned down my waitlist offer quickly. Actually both came in at the same time. Wish you'd get in off the waitlist soon!
  10. hey friend, just saw your NYU admit in the NYU forum. WOW! are you gonna accept your offer? You made my day mate! I already accepted my offer. Are you interested in exchanging emails, etc? If so, private message me, Are you based in NY? Looking forward to your post
  11. That is too kind of you! HOhohoho! I think we should have an urgent final meeting now. (LOL), Which inferno have you chosen after all? I think I only got one acceptance with handful of waitlists. I've also been waitlisted by Harvard too. The Ivy is kinda into waitlisting me and that's the biggest favor they can give to an anxiety-stricken Persian doctor (hahahaha) the conclusion of 2011 application season in my words: the biggest mistakes: to apply to Brown, UPenn, Michigan. The pity: not to apply to Duke, UNC, CH and BU. OMG: acceptance from NYU, waitlisted by Columbia. No way: rejected by Yale, waitlisted by CUNY. SO SO: waitlisted by Harvard and Princeton. Go to hell: now news from JHU yet! Let's party all night long: NYU and the consortium of metropolitan area!
  12. Hey mate, HAHAHAHA! Thanks for enjoying my stressed-out posts as your favorite passtime! You're so cute for God's sake, I just got my rejection from Yale. I'm happy (believe it or not) because I had already made my decision to get in NYU and I was not sure how to turn down my potential acceptance since it was always my first choice and I'd conveyed my ardor to my POI at Yale. I kinda felt this ethical encumbrance not to turn down Yale for NYU, Thanks the forces of nature I didn't get in Yale. I now only wait for JHU. However, I think I'm all set now. Let's get headed into NYU
  13. Hi anthros, I just received my rejections from UPenn and MIT/HASTS. I was quite sure of these two rejections. I just applied to UPenn in order to hook myself up close to NYC! I assume the clever decision makers got it hahahahaha Wish you all the best,
  14. Hi friend, How it like you're still not sure if waitlisted? If you're waitlisted, you should be happy they made offers to three only. Isn't it like the fewer the better?
