I got into UCI with the Regent's Fellowship. A friend of mine got in too, but his fellowship was worth about $10,000 more than mine Who else got in and is likely going?

Okay, so the last post in this topic was from a year ago. Regardless, I'm in the same boat for UC Berkeley that you all were in last year. It's March 07 and there still hasn't been any acceptance or rejection. I would love to hear back from them.

I've lived in Phoenix/Scottsdale for most of my life. I moved to Tucson to U of A to do my undergrad. First, ASU sucks. I have to say that no matter what and the reason should be obvious. As far as Tempe goes, it's generally an alright area. Avoid Mesa, I personally just don't like that area. Mill Avenue is where you'll find the best bars and a lot of other interesting stuff. Get used to being told that you don't live in Tempe even if that's your street address. All of the "cities" around Phoenix have already been assimilated, kind of like LA.

Don't worry, I'm quite geeky and 2 of my geeky friends are going to Irvine too. We're all Physics majors, so we may not be able to spread our geek influence throughout the campus. I know someone doing their undergrad there right now, and they say that it really isn't that bad. The campus area is much less superficial than the OC area. I expect to be spending most of my time on campus anyway. Best of luck
