This is probably just an example of morbid curiosity but does anyone know what went on at Berkeley Af-Am this season? I got rejected way back in February and I was convinced that maybe something was missing from my application. Whatever the case, I haven't seen anyone else claim admission or rejection? Any ideas? Congratulations to all by the way...

Hey...I've checked the application web site literally a thousand times over the past couple of days, especially when I started seeing the results go up and nothing has changed. I guess I have to wait and see. Thanks for the positive thoughts!

Has anyone on the board heard from Yale? I saw some rejections posted yesterday and two acceptances from a while ago but I have heard nothing...wonder if my application is lost in the ether???

Well, my last name starts with an 'S' which is pretty late in the game so maybe your good news is coming!

I received notice from the Committee about half an hour ago...no joy here. Email from the dean that explained the decision and a formal pdf letter attached. Good luck all!

Just saw a Yale acceptance go up on the board that references admission on the 24th. Does anyone want to give details?

Does anyone on the board know of an applicant accepted to Brown Africana studies and if so their thoughts about attending?

I phoned the Social Thought office this morning and the administrator said they have not entirely completed admissions because they are waiting on the dean of students sign off on decisions. Didn't ask about timing or results.

I'd expect that word would come out this week. Maybe someone got a call from a professor that they are interested in working with. We shall see.

Likely. I'm sure its just a matter of the dean's office working through all of the departments.

I called them Friday afternoon and was told that the decisions had been made and forwarded to the dean to be sent out but that had not happened yet.

I only saw the one acceptance on the board. Not sure whats going on.

So I couldn't stand the waiting and called the secretary at Yale Af-Am. According to her, the decisions have been finalized and are being forwarded by the DGS to the Dean for notification within the next day or so. She said she didn't have the info to distribute. So it looks as if the suspense will end by mid week I bet....Good luck

Whats the deal with Princeton? Were there any theory admits or any rejections? And to the admits is there a web address to check to verify status besides the checklist?

So...based on my current trend it looks like I'm going to have to pin my hopes on the waiting list at Brown, Does anyone have any insight into how that process works and what I can expect?

Just got link to view my rejection from Berkeley via email...I'm building some serious negative momentum here.

Checked the applyyourself site at 11:00pm (cst) and the bad news popped up. Well...maybe someone who cross applied to Brown will want to come to NU and I can get a spot there otherwise things are not looking positive. Good luck to everyone. I have to say that I'm pretty surprised by this decision.

Hey, I just called Marjorie as well and she says that the decisions were entered yesterday and the system may be taking a while to upload them. She said to keep checking and if nothing is posted by tomorrow then to give her a call back.

I really can't even speculate but I will... I would imagine that if it were the case that they have informed everyone the easiest thing to do would be to change the web site and let the rejected know something. I guess someone could call...any takers?

Wasn't me. It has been strangely quiet in the African American studies front so sooner or later someone has to tell us something. I'm still in limbo at NU with no status change on the web site. I checked my Harvard online application and nothing has changed.
