I think it'll be great as decisions are coming out and people are making up their mind to find someone that will be going to the same school as you. Simply reply by stating which school you have decided to go to, what program, and a little bit of why. I will be going to Columbia University's Master's of Social Work advanced standing program for the following reasons: 1. it's just one year 2. I would like to go to New York City 3. Very interested in their macro concentration (Social Enterprise Administration) 4. beautiful campus

I heard back last night from Columbia of my acceptance to the advanced standing program. I am so happy, keep hanging on there ppl.

I have a friend who applied for advanced standing for Columbia also, and heard back on Friday but was rejected. I am curious how'd they decide the order. I still haven't heard back yet. Hopefully they are considering us for scholarships.

You know what's funny? Idk if it's me but I haven't received my admission letter yet. I applied for the advanced standing program to CUSSW. Anyone else applied for the advanced standing program and received their notification letter?

Has anyone called Columbia regarding the delayed notification?

I guess they are really taking their time until March 4th. Oh well, only 2 days left

Did you get in? Is the decision letter on the online application? I haven't seem it yet and I applied earlier than you did, although I applied for the advanced standing program.

Thanks for the reply. I am curiuos which school would you choose if you really get into all of them? From what I've heard from many students paying for the high tuition of graduate school simply isn't worth it. I was also quite borthered by the lack of good social work support forum out there. I am thinking of creating a helpful forum for social work students and applicants to go with much more resources. This kind of information is simply lacking out there.

Hey all I received my acceptance to the advanced stnading program to NYU on the 10th of this month. The thing is I am also waiting for reply from Columbia, which I think won't be heard until early March. I have to reply within 3 weeks of the letter, which would be the end of this month. Can I pay the acceptance fee right now and if I decide to go to Columbia afterwards just forfeit it? I also wrote a letter to the financial aid office to ask for more financial aid which i haven't gotten a response yet. Do you think calling them would be faster? Anyways good luck all for getting into the program you would like to. ps. Should I apply to Hunter's also? Because paying one year of tuition at NYU or Columbia just doesn't seem like a good option to be debt-free afterwards. Or is it really worth it?
