  1. Just received a note to log into the website. I was accepted! Unfortunately, I did not receive the IFP award. To those who are still waiting - stay patient (go play sudoku/tetris and find a meaningless distraction) don't read too much into the timeline, and best of luck!
  2. For anyone who applied to the International Fellows Program: http://themorningsidepost.com/2011/03/international-fellows-program-reborn/ sounds like the competition will be tough. Of the 30 fellows this year, I wonder how many are from SIPA, and how many of those are 1st year students? Still awaiting MPA - EPD! I'm worried, as most of the other folks waiting appear to be waiting for MPA-DP...
  3. I concur! Am I right in assuming that no admitted students who follow this blog have yet been accepted to the International Fellows Program?
  4. Is anyone else perplexed by the times these blog posts are updated? I checked the blog site (I don't receive the email updates until the end of the following business day in my time zone) directly, and saw this post at about 4am local time NY. Oh well! I'm just glad that they committee is making strides. Since they intended to notify applicants in "early March", I hope all notifications go out by the end of the week!
  5. Congrats to everyone who Harvard accepted! To all those who were not admitted - I hope your other prospects are appealing (and forthcoming!)
  6. Hi all - I'm in the remaining 25% of applicants still playing the waiting game for SIPA (MPA-Economic & Political Development). I applied to the International Fellows Program as well. Does anyone who was accepted know when incoming (American) students are expected to report to campus? In no way do I presume that I can count on an acceptance - I am simply curious. Thanks.
  7. How brutal! I thought before we had a hard deadline by Friday afternoon (based upon someone's previous post relaying their phone call), but now we'll continue to wait with waning prospects. arghhh
  8. Good to know the process! Thanks, Blingem. I wouldn't be too discouraged if you mischecked the PAC box. My presumption is that if 2 ppl did on this forum, you aren't the only applicants for whom they'll see clearly defined goals and a different concentration.
  9. Either enough people vocalized the same preference as above, or our dear Mr. Clemons frequents this forum. Thanks either way for the clarification! "$22,500 Conflict Resolution FellowshipMarch 10th, 2011 by Matt Clemons: I will have another update on the release of decisions soon, but I thought I would take a minor break on “decision only” entries and offer something for admitted candidates to consider. I will note that just as the decisions that have already been released belong to the three categories (admitted, waitlist, not admitted) the decisions yet to be released will also include these three categories."
  10. It's hard to know - I see a lot of traffic on these boards for WWS applicants, and at present, if you refer to the results search page, I only see 5 admits: (smerd, cramille, abogs78, abogs78's friend, & politico). Even if the 5 ppl on the results board are different than the 5 who've posted in this forum, that only accounts for 10 of the total admits. Last yr, there were 85 admits. Clearly, I can't rely on this blog as an adequate portrait or comprehensive sample of all admits. But here is to hoping that there remains a chance..... I'm 8 hours ahead of princeton time - meaning I have at most 2 more nights of anxious waiting! good luck to all!
  11. According to some great soul on the results page of gradcafe, the answer to your question is apparently (and thankfully) 'no': Princeton University (Woodrow Wilson School)Public Affairs (MPA), Masters (F11)Other via Phone on 9 Mar 2011U9 Mar 2011 I called the Graduate Admissions office and the person confirmed that all the admits have not been sent out as of yet and will be sent out over the next couple of days. This would include the remaining admits and also the emails for people who did not make. Maybe there is still a slim chance....
  12. For the 35% or so of SIPA applicants who are still waiting for an award notification (like me - I applied to MPA - Economic & Political Development).... In the most recent blog post (3-8-2011: "Follow up notes"), Matt writes that "The first batch of decisions we sent out included MIA and MPA applicants from all three categories that I commented on in recent posts: waitlist candidates, admitted candidates, and candidates not admitted to the program. It is true however that the Admissions Committee is still meeting to discuss scholarship offers and thus the first batch of decisions did not include any candidates offered a first-year scholarship award." As it turns out, this wasn't news to the obsessive grad cafe addicts among us, as we'd already seen folks on the results board who were admitted, rejected, and wait listed. Does any one else wish he'd followed his first sentence, clearly stating "The remaining batches of rolling decisions we will send out will include MIA, MPA, and MPA-DP apps for all 3 categories as well: admitted, rejected, and waitlisted"? I infer this from the other comments, but I wish he'd said that directly if that is in fact the case. Now, please join me in over analyzing an old blog post from Feb 16 (in "Admission Decisions - Piles of Files"): "Pile #1 is representative of applications where there is unanimous agreement among Committee members. I would say that about 60-65% of applications fall into this group. Pile #2 represents those where the reviewers of the file did not entirely agree and they have asked for additional review by a Senior Member of the Admissions Committee prior to making a final decision. Approximately 20-25% of applications fall into this category. Pile #3 represents those who the readers believe should be considered for first year fellowship awards – approximately 15-20%. These files take longer to process because they have to go through additional rounds of meetings by the Fellowship Committee." Presumably the pile 1 folks have been notified - right? Leaving those of us still waiting likely falling into pile 1 or pile 2? sorry for the diatribe. oh, the great wait.....
  13. I presume that the admissions committee will notify applicants by email that an admissions decision has been made. Can anyone shed light on where the decision will be indicated on the 'applyweb Princeton Graduate school website? Clearly I could wait anywhere from 1 - 7 days and just wait for their email - but why do that when I can agonize in the meantime!
  14. Hmm - To answer your question, I'm not certain how to see a user name associated with the "results search page" - but this was the user entry I was referencing: Columbia (SIPA)MIA, Masters (F11)Rejected via E-mail on 27 Feb 2011I27 Feb 2011 Form email. I thought they weren't making decisions until March? Thanks for your comment!
  15. All - I just noted on the results page of the grad cafe that someone was rejected from SIPA (MIA) on 2/27. Yet, when you read the most recent SIPA admissions blog from 2/28 (entitled "Admission Decisions Category #2: admitted), Matt Clemons notes that no admissions decisions have gone out yet. Anyone care to shed some light on the discrepancy?
