I have turned down a funded offer from the University of Virginia.

They told me they already made funding decisions and I am not receiving any funding.

I'm sorry to tell you, but they've already made funding decisions at UVA. I was admitted in the first round at UVA, but received NO funding.

Received my rejection from Northwestern today. Well, my cycle is over and it is now decision time... :?

I agree--I also am waiting on Northwestern and have a hard time believing that all of us who haven't heard are still in the game...

Does anyone else agree with me that Notre Dame is one of the most overrated programs both in terms of the number and quality of applications it receives? From my perspective, none of Notre Dame's doctorate programs are terribly strong, including its Political Science department ... but maybe I'm wrong...

I officially hate Northwestern. They have taken forever to post decisions and they have not responded to my e-mail inquiring about my status. Luckily, I've already been admitted to the program I want to attend or I would be absolutely livid about the situation with Northwestern...

I would be very surprised if you're all that interested in Emory, given the list of schools to which you've been accepted ...

I'd take Berkeley and Michigan over most of those private schools anyway, but hey that's just me. :wink:

I don't know who told you that UVA has made funding decisions, but that is not correct. UVA does not make those decisions until late March. None of the individuals in this forum who have been admitted to UVA (including myself) have heard anything about funding yet.

I don't see how Wisconsin can compete with other comparable schools for the best applicants if the funding package is so dreadful. Looks like a program on the decline...

I've also heard nothing from UVA regarding funding. I don't think they have made those decisions yet.

There will always be a few people who try to sabotage other applicants, but overall I think the material on this board has been informative and useful. I have found that the vast majority of individuals who post in this forum are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. That makes me happy!!

Congrats!! Of all those schools, I think the clear choice is Ohio State, but that's just my take...
