  1. By that, are you suggesting that NYU has a better Political Science department than Ohio State?? Because I would strongly dispute that assessment...
  2. Hondo--I would think that you have a decent shot at a few of the schools you listed. It's nice to finally find someone else on here who has an interest in judicial politics!!!
  3. coachrjc-- Thanks for the reply. Yeah, i've read the thread on poliscijobrumors, but they only talk about the very best public law programs (WUSTL; Ohio State; Princeton). No one ever seems to have information about the next tier of schools. I've been accepted to UVA, which Whittington ranked 11th in the 1998 survey. I don't think UVA has slipped in the last ten years since David O'Brien and David Klein are still there. Just curious whether Notre Dame and Northwestern have inched higher ...
  4. As I've indicated in a previous post, my subfield is Public Law/Judicial Politics. The only rankings of Public Law programs that I've been able to find are from a 1998 survey conducted by Keith Whittington and published in Law & Courts. The information in that survey now seems a bit dated. Does anyone know of any other rankings that have been released more recently?
  5. hey pro, are you a theorist? I'm still wondering if the other theorist hopefuls at NW should give up hope.
  6. when was the letter dated?
  7. Luckige--you were waitlisted at Illinois but admitted to Berkeley ... how strange...
  8. spark25-- care to provide us with a complete list of the schools you applied to ... it seems to be a pretty long list.
  9. Yeah, the funding issue is interesting at UVA ... I know that UVA is not as generous as other similar schools. We shall see...
  10. don't mention it
  11. IRHopeful -- have you heard from any other schools yet besides Virginia?
  12. I have no estimate for you, but I would be very surprised if you're not admitted ... you have strong credentials. Good luck!!
  13. Wouldn't be trying to steer plisar away from Illinois by chance ....
  14. I have to disagree; I think that shows indecision and a lack of focus, but hey plisar was admitted to Wisconsin, and I, apparently, was not, so what do i know????
  15. I don't think Northwestern has issued many decisions so far ... need to wait on that one.
  16. normally around 40, maybe 45
  17. I wouldn't be too discouraged ... by my last count there are only six of us on this board who have been admitted to UVA at this point.
  18. i'd have to say yeah, congrats!!!
  19. My UVA status also just changed to "Admit", though I had already been informed by e-mail...
  20. No word on funding, I assume that will be in the letter they are sending out...
  21. Congratulations, you deserve it!!
  22. I don't know that you are necessarily rejected by UVA ... maybe she got overwhelmed with e-mails and decided to stop disclosing decisions.
  23. still says "Pending"
  24. the graduate admissions coordinator in the polisci dept
