Are any PhD people waiting to hear from Temple? I'm assuming I am rejected since it's April, but it is a tad annoying not hearing anything.

I'll wait till Monday, I think. Though this is just torture! Thanks for the advice!

I emailed him on Tuesday and he said he would get back to me by the end of this week via email. Would it be bad form to email him again?

That gives me hope and that is not a good thing!

Sorry, am I missing something? I went to the ApplyYourself page, logged in and it shows my rec letters and transcripts and there was no link to anything on the bottom of that page. Then I clicked on my application and nothing. I even clicked "message center."

I contacted Gordon Braden on Monday and he told me that he would let me know before the week is out. Maybe that's when they will be emailing the rest of us?

I have not heard anything either. It could just take a long time to send out rejection emails to the hundreds of people who are rejected. I'm not holding my breathe for a waitlisted email.

I've applied to school back East and I have not heard from ANY school yet. I think it's just the English departments that are sadistic and like to take their time.

The only school I applied to that others have heard from is UC Davis and even though it's not my top school (farm country) it would still be nice to hear something. I really do not know how I am going to last until March. I am trying to distract myself by going to plays and concerts (and a Disneyland trip at the end of the month), but I can't afford to keep doing that. Plus, those distractions aren't really working. Anyone else sick of people saying "Well you'll just try again next year?" I am tempted to punch people who say that! Cause it's so easy, right?

Admit: E-mail, letter, telegram, Paul Revere's ghost on horseback, whatever. Reject: I'm still torn. An email may come as a shock, but at last I'd be the only one to see it. If my parents get the mail before me and see a small envelope they will know before and I won't be able to have a private reaction.

1) Run around my house and shriek. 2) Consume an enormous amount of delicious wine. 3) Regret #2 the next morning, but cheer myself up by buying shoes. 4) Possibly go to Disneyland. Like some others have mentioned, this will also be the list if I am rejected from all the school with the minor change to # 1 (shriek and cry).

I am only 30 pages in and I am bored. Eliot is looking better and better. Something I never thought I'd say.
