  1. Yeah you're right, I guess I'll just continue my MPH degree alone then... I really wanna get in!!!! I emailed them and told them to put more emphasis on my special situation (that I'm already a Yale student) haha. I think a lot of people are leaning towards Duke actually?
  2. @MCRM She said everyone is unranked, and whenever there is a vacancy, the whole pool of waitlisted applicants would be reviewed and the best fit would be picked. @curlie-sue Seems like a lot of those who applied for Yale also applied for Duke, so it depends on how many of those who got into both picked Duke...I say we have a chance. Plus, 220 got admitted but around only 140 would choose to go, if this number is lower then more students could take their places. I am actually a current Yale student doing masters in public health, applying MEM as a joint masters program.
  3. I just emailed Danielle, the assistant director of Yale's FES and she said there're 63 applicants who got waitlisted. p.s I'm one of them
  4. To everyone: Given you receive the same amount of funding, which one would you choose? Duke's or Yale's MEM program? And why?
  5. Hey prospective and current MSW-ers! Does anyone know the latest acceptance rate for Columbia's MSW degree? Also, I already have a masters degree in public health benefit my application? Cheers, Chriskyk
  6. Haha thanks for giving me support! Do you still recall any interview questions that you could share with me? I'm sure you did a good job in that for the application since it's an important component.
  7. Hey huge congratulations! You deserve it! How big of a chance do you think an international applicant would have? I'm from Hong Kong, China. I was thinking about starting the application this summer and submit it in Sept. Would you think the earlier I submit the bigger chance I'll get in, since the program acceptance is on a rolling basis?
  8. Hey NadaJ, Thanks for sharing. This is truly an insight to see UPenn's MSW program is reaching the world. Do you study there? Chriskyk
  9. Cool I see. I am thinking doing social work on a global scale too. I'm from Hong Kong, China. I do see the importance of social work because of the increasing elder population and what not. So where are you doing your MSW and do you mind sharing your stats (GPA, work+research experiences etc)?
  10. Wow cool! Thanks for the info. Are you working in the field by any chance? What do you work on mind if I ask?
  11. Hi guys, I'm new to the social work field and wonder what I could do with a masters in social work degree (MSW). What organizations, departments or companies offer great jobs in social work? Sorry for my ignorance. Cheers, Chriskyk
  12. Congratz on your acceptance and thanks for the great info. I'm sure you have made up your mind of where to go next fall then haha. I realized that both of you took GRE, but just want to make sure, the test is NOT required for application right? Because I'm not planning to hand in my score even though I took it.
  13. Nice haha. Do you mind sharing your stats (eg. GPA, work experience etc)? How did your interview go?
  14. Hey 2011 MSW Hopeful, May I ask: 1. When you submitted your MSW application and 2. When did you receive a confirmation from the school? 3, When did you receive the interview invitation? Thanks, Chriskyk
  15. Hey guys so I'm interested in applying for the 2-year full time MSW from UPenn. Does anyone know what type of questions are usually asked during the interview? Cheers, Chriskyk
