  1. i think we should call each other's programs and get the low-down. haha
  2. Someone just posted a response from GWU. Wonder if the Anthro PhD decisions are coming soon!!!
  3. That was from 2009 or something, though. It wasn't updated to this year... according to the forums, it's about mid-Feb that we should be hearing. Fingers crossed for all of us!!
  4. Someone just posted an inteview with GWU for Bio Anth... I wonder if that was the new Anthro PhD or the hominid paleo? If you're on here, let me know!! (And congrats on the interview)
  5. Yeah, I'm not sure if the HP is the same as the new Anthropology PhD? Anyway, congrats on the interview! Hope it went well
  6. Well- Got an admit from NCSU! Not sure if they've sent all their admits yet, but recruitment is Feb 29- March 2. Anyone heard from Penn State, Ohio State, or GWU?
  7. Actually, I did get accepted last year to Edinburgh and Durham for European Archaeology. I turned them down because I really wanted to work with bones. I ended up applying to NCSU, Penn State, GWU, and Ohio State. I did try to apply to UPenn, but apparently my payment didn't go through :( Arizona State.. I just couldn't bring myself to apply.
  8. Huntress- You sound EXACTLY like me. Bioarch, but my preferred area is Europe I did a TON of research this past year... I actually changed my path last year. I was accepted to Edinburgh and Durham for European Arch, but turned them down because I -really- wanted to study bioarch. Both of those schools have excellent bioarch programs as well. As do a lot in the UK. They are much more intense about it than the US is, in my opinion. BUT- some other US colleges worth looking in to- NCSU and Arizona State both have their own dedicated programs. And there are plenty of other Anthro progams who have faculty with bioarch interests- just do some digging on the internet. UPenn, OSU, PSU, UCSB, UNC... What will be hard is the old world aspect, because a lot of colleges are on the "Native kick" (believe me, after trying to apply to specialize in Old World and not getting into a single US School..) GWU has a good paleoanthropology department, too- probably one of the best in the nation if you're interested in human origins.
  9. Hi everyone! Wondering if there is anyone else in the forums looking to apply to bioarchaeology programs. If so, which schools/programs are you applying to?
  10. First of all, congrats to all the acceptances! It's such a nail-biting experience... Wanted to see if any other archaeology people applied to Boston university's arch. Department or had heard anything... As for Columbia and Harvard, it sounds like acceptances have been sent out?
