  1. I saw this thread and thought I HAD to contribute. Everyone needs a little stress relief during this process (and it can't all be intellectually stimulating haha)
  2. I, too, feel like I've been adopting this philosophy/perspective a lot lately. It usually goes in cycles: I'll think about all the ways I screwed up the presentation of my applications, how my chances are ridiculously slim, and then I'll have a zen moment where I realize I tried to put my best foot forward and if I get accepted - amazing! But if not, life can still present some amazing journeys. Tell me about it! All the 'Fake University' and 'Jedi Academy' posting seriously got on my nerves. The Jedi Academy post I actually found funny, but totally wrong place to post that stuff. The Forum would be a fine place to joke around, and throw figurative airplane peanuts all day!
  3. Yeah, these posts definitely hit home for me and are reassuring to read as well. Although it doesn't make my situation any better, it's nice to hear that I'm not alone with this struggle between work and potential grad school admissions. My predicament at the moment is this: I have a temporary job where I really like my fellow employees, but I - like some other previous posters - am completely overqualified, and the pay is just enough to keep paying the bills. Like everyone else in this thread, I'm stuck in a terrible limbo. I don't want to apply for serious jobs until I know for sure I got universally rejected. What a fun few months we have ahead of us!
  4. Let's see. Applied to 9 schools: App Fees: ~ $700 ETS: ~ $400 Misc : ~ $25 Which gives me a grand total of approximately $1,125 (not including the worth of psychological damages). I sure hope my future rejection letters are at least printed on gold bars..
