  1. What branch of psychology are you looking to get your PhD in? Whether you need more non-psych science courses may depend on that. If you are considering a neuro or biopsych program, I would think that more science courses could be helpful. If you are considering a social program, I would see them as less crucial. I took only a basic bio course and an astronomy course for science classes during undergrad. I was accepted to social or ed psych programs at Wisconsin, Michigan, and Stanford.

GRE Score: 1500, 5.5 GPA: 3.9 undergrad, 4.0 masters Work Experience: 3 years of teaching, 2 years of literacy coaching Undergrad Institution(Public, Private, Ivy, etc..): Small private liberal arts college Research Experience: 2.5 years during undergraduate Applying for PhD or Masters: PhD Program: Educational psychology, broadly. (I am interested in studying motivation and social contexts of learning; this falls into different areas at different programs.) What Schools Are You Applying To: Harvard (Human Development & Ed), Maryland (Human Development), Stanford (Developmental & Psychological Sciences), Michigan (Education & Psychology), Vanderbilt (Psychological Sciences - Developmental), also pure psychology programs at Madison (social), Columbia (social), and UVA (cognitive) Acceptances: Harvard, Maryland, Stanford, Michigan, Madison
  5. Thanks! Very exciting. I received a Presidential Fellowship. Stats: 5 years of teaching. Masters in Curriculum & Instruction to be finished in May. 4.0 grad GPA. 1500 GRE. 2+ years of undergraduate research. 3.9 undergrad GPA. Any more questions, PM me.
  6. I heard via an email from a faculty member that I am on the waitlist at Stanford.
  7. 3.9 undergrad GPA, 4.0 grad GPA, 1500 GRE, 2.5 years of research and a few poster presentations as an undergrad, nearing completion on a MS in Curriculum and Instruction, 4.5 years of teaching.
  8. I received an acceptance email from a professor two days ago (I'd communicated with him via email and phone a few times) and then received the official email from the department today. DAPS program.
