Yeah, I've emailed twice and haven't gotten a response. I'm going to call this week. I want to move on with my life. My last name starts with M so if they've done T, I don't understand the delay.

Has anyone else still not heard from Davis? I know they're rejecting me, but I'm getting really annoyed that they haven't bothered to send me any sort of notification.

OK, I'll restrain myself. If you happen to have an acceptance from U of Florida and you know you're not going, please, please tell them. I'm eager to get bumped up from the waiting list asap.

Hmm. I wasn't interviewed at WashU and my status hasn't been updated. Did they forget about me?

Has anyone heard anything from the University of Arizona? I sent them an email asking for status and they aren't responding. Has anyone had an interview there?

goose2009, why are you considering Claremont if you got into other schools? I've only gotten into Claremont and am trying to decide if it's worth all the debt. What draws you to the program? Is there something special about them I don't know?

I contacted them the other week for the social psych program and was informed that they have already had an interview weekend and that they'd sending out decisions (in my case, a rejection) in early March.

I recently read an article, possibly in Inside Higher Ed, that stated that the UC system was planning to stop using the GRE, but because this would cause such a massive decrease in income for ETS, they agreed to make a number of changes that were requested by UC. I understand the need for graduate programs to have some sort of consistent measure for aptitude since undergraduate programs vary so much in quality and rigor, but surely having students submit undergraduate papers, or prepare research models, etc. would be better than standardized tests. I guess it's all about how much effort the graduate programs want to put into their admissions process.

I think the most annoying part for me is that schools don't just hurry up and officially reject me. Instead I'm just told that, no, I haven't been invited to interview, and they'll be sending out decisions in a few weeks. Does anyone know anyone who hasn't been invited for an interview but somehow was admitted anyway?

I applied to the masters in Applied Social and Eval and was told they would send out decisions in early March. Not sure if that's the same for the PhD program.

Has anyone heard anything about U Arizona or UT at Austin?

Thanks for all the advice! It's good to know others are feeling the same way. I'm thinking if I reapply next year, it will be to a variety of terminal masters programs (possibly in totally different fields) and some social psych programs. I'm 27 and don't really like the idea of spending an extra 2 years getting a masters first since I'll then been in my mid 30's by the time I even start my career. Ugh.

Seeing as there are so many topics for those who've been accepted, I thought I'd start one for those of us feeling rejected or still waiting. I applied to 11 schools, have had 1 interview, and am now wait listed. At this point I'm trying to be realistic and consider my options. While I may reapply next year, I am not fresh out of college and feel I should also start exploring other career paths or masters program. It has always been my opinion that a MA in social psychology isn't that useful, and schools don't seem to think it helps that much with PhD applications anyway. Is anyone else having this dilemma? I'd love to hear what others are thinking of doing in the event that they are rejected everywhere. I know I'm not the only one thinking about this depressing possibility. This can be the pessimists forum.

I spoke with someone at UC Davis today and was told that they will be sending out interview invitations next week. Hang in there! Berkeley said they send all invites last week so I've given up on them. Has anyone here anything from UT Austin or U Arizona?
