I would set up a voicemail telling people that you're traveling and may/may not have service, so to leave a message and that you would get back to them ASAP. I did that when I was in Argentina, and they waited until I got back to do a phone interview. Good luck!

Hi, I was wondering since we (the applicants) are able to accept and back out of an offer by April 15th, can the institution back out of an offer of acceptance? Is this even possible?

Hi, I have recently been admitted to the PhD Psych program at UMich. My boyfriend and I are planning on visiting in May/June and moving in August. However, he won't let go of his Ford Mustang Mach1 and plans on bringing it to Ann Arbor, so now we are looking for apartments with garages where he can keep his car during the winter but I can't find any places that offer garages. I'm not talking about covered parking, he needs a real garage. We found Huron Towers offers some underground parking, but I'm still not sure about this place. We are willing to look at condos/lofts/apartments, etc... Any suggestions??

Thanks everyone!! All the encouragement and advice is so helpful!! I guess I'm just going to have to put my best face and be as outgoing and friendly and "smart-sounding" as possible.... By the way, the whole process does seem like a crapshoot-- I mean UM was the top program I applied, the other schools were mid-level. It seems like research interests and LORs are some of the most important things they look into, but what do I know... I'm still waiting for an acceptance. Thank you all! I'll keep you all posted.

Hi, I applied to 9 schools and only have gotten 1 invitation to a recruitment weekend... So I can not stress enough how freaked out I am that I might only have one chance of getting in. So what are my chances of getting accepted to a program after the interview? If it helps, the school that I have my interview is University of Michigan. I heard from one of my advisors that in Clinical Psych they have many candidates that come to an interview (for example, 5) but will only accept 2 or 3. HOWEVER, I applied to Developmental Psychology so would I be competing with other students for acceptance too?? Anything helps, Thank you...

Hey Psychurgh, how did you find out you got admitted into the program for Michigan? I am going to the recruitment weekend for Developmental Psych on the 17th-18th for the interview, but I thought they hadn't sent acceptances yet. Thank you.
