for those interested, just got the rejection e-mail from U of C statistics ph.d e-mail said if i had not received an offer or notification of being on the wait list by now, that i would not be receiving an offer, and that the program is now full.

meant to mention that i applied for the ph.d program as well

I e-mailed the administrative assistant in charge of taking admissions questions, and she responded that a decision had not yet been made on my application and to check again if i didn't hear back by the end of the week.

i applied to those schools for statistics as well, minus CMU and Duke, and have yet to hear from any of them. also applied to some other statistics programs, none of which i have heard back from either. my guess (hope?) is that most stats departments are just on a later schedule. on a somewhat related note, does anyone know if statistics departments typically do interviews or prospective student visit days, or if they just go straight to acceptance/rejection?
