  1. Hi All I just wanted to check if anyone here has heard from Chicago for Statistics. There are a couple of PhD acceptances on the board from back in February but no rejections at all. There are also plenty of both acceptances and rejections for Masters. I haven't heard back from them even after sending them two e-mails in the last month. Any news will be helpful. Thanks.
  2. Hi Has anyone here heard from UMich? I applied there for a Masters in Applied Statistics, but haven't heard back. I e-mailed the administrative assistant more than a week ago, but was told that a decision on my application had yet to be made. I see only one reject on the boards (back from 11th March) and no admits, so I am not sure what's happening.
  3. Yup. I was the "reject", and had to ask the admin asst. twice in the last couple of days before I got a reply. Best of luck to everyone who doesn't know yet.
  4. I'm waiting on 5 schools, though one of them had March 15th as a deadline. Out of the other 4, I know that at least three have sent out some acceptances and / or rejects (Columbia, UMich, UChicago), so I am not sure why I haven't received either. Only UPenn seems to be still deciding, as I haven't heard of anyone getting any communications yet.
  5. I don't think visiting the school is a "must-do" by any stretch of the imagination. Most international students will be unable to visit anyway, and I don't think the university can discriminate against the students in the US who could have attended but did not (or could not).
  6. Hi I am applying for a Ph.D in Penn (they don't have a Masters) and Columbia. I assume Masters' results may be out a little later than the Ph.D results.
  7. I also contacted the Penn Doctoral Admissions Group a couple of days ago but haven't heard anything from them yet.
  8. I would say there's still some hope...I still don't see any acceptances on the results board...so chin up!
  9. I e-mailed the admin assistants in both the Department and the Graduate School. Haven't heard from the Dept., and the Grad School guy said that decision letters would go out after March 15th.
  10. 0. Waitingforgodot 1. First time applicant 2. Applied to 7 schools 3. Rejected from 2 4. Trying to go back to school after 3 years of professional work experience; applying to a field not related to my major; mediocre GRE Subject Test score 5. Will apply again next year; will probably apply in a couple of different fields 6. Try to do some evening courses in Math; retake the Subject GRE; apply to lower universities than I did this time 7. Continue working and save some money
