  1. I found housing a few weeks ago, but I plan on moving in on June 1 (want to get settled in, get the lay of the land, get out of here, etc.). Did you check out the GPSO housing board?

    Bloomington, IN

  3. I hear the food is excellent there. What is your favorite place to eat out?
  4. Definitely looking forward to access to Public Transportation (something that is not currently available in my area right now, as it is a very rural area). I hear Bloomington has an excellent Farmer's Market, which has me VERY excited (having worked at a FM last summer). Can anyone attest to the fantabulousness of the Market? =)
  5. Any opinions on Woodbridge Apartments? My wife seems set on living there.
  6. Is the nook a viable replacement for a kindle? Does anyone have experience with it?
  7. I am a Grad asst. for the Student and Family transitions dept., tutor, substitute teacher, and volunteer grad asst. for my department (yes, volunteer).
  8. For those of you with an e-reader, I suggest getting a program called Calibre. It manages your documents and can convert them between types (can make pdf's .mobis, etc).
  9. Waiting for work to set me free. 1 more hour. Then off to more fun, related stuff =D
  10. It is entirely possible to get into a Masters of Education program without having any sort of BA in education. I am one example, my wife, another. For me: BA in History at State University of New York, College at Potsdam. I was then accepted into the Master's in the Science of Teaching program at the same school for Secondary Social Studies Ed (to be accepted into the MST programs, you only need to have a degree which addresses the content area. History was one of hte many that addressed Social Studies). Finish the program, take the state teaching tests, get certified to teach. My wife got a B.A. in Art History. Tried the MST Childhood education thing, it didn't work out, so she changed to Educational Technology (an MSEd degree) for non-state certification. So yeah, entirely possible.
  11. Provided I get in, I'll be 27 when I start. After an extended undergrad session, I studied to be a Social Studies Teacher (MST), and after that degree, tired out Educational Technology (MSEd). I also took a year off to work as a teachers aide. I know this is a very good time for me. I had a lot of growing up and experiencing to do with the real world, got married, etc. I also need a way to get out of the North Country, and this is a great way to do that.
