  1. Hello everyone... I used this forum last fall when I was looking for schools to apply. I found it very helpful to connect to other MFA applicants. I am currently attending the New York Academy of Art for painting MFA. In case you haven't heard about it, I just wanted to post about the program, which is primarily figurative based. See the short video clip: http://blip.tv/episode/5376881 Also, I am documenting my experience earning an MFA on my blog, in case anyone is interested: www.takingchancesinkansas.blogspot.com If you have any questions about the program, I'd be happy to help. I recommend visiting the school to see the work. Good luck everyone!
  2. oops - didn't mean to send just that! Ok here's the rest - I am VERY interested in doing an MFA at NYAA next year (I'm a figurative artist and it's definitely my top choice program). However, I'm a bit put off by the expense of living in NYC and the seeming lack of funding available at NYAA, since it's a private school. Do you have any advice about how to fund your MFA there? Also, do you know if there is an alum resource network I could contact to ask more questio...

  3. And here's a great short video about the grad program at The New York Academy of Art (NYAA) http://blip.tv/episode/5376881
  4. Hello all... I used this forum last year during my application to grad schools. I found it super useful. I am currently attending The New York Academy of Art. (NYAA). It's a figurative art program in painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. They specialize in anatomy. For those who are interested, I'm blogging about my experience there so others can know what it's like. Please feel free to follow me at www.takingchancesinkansas.blogspot.com I also highly recommend visiting the school if you get a chance. The work here is outstanding. Our open houses start on Nov 19, and continue every Saturday. Feel free to ask me any questions. -Amanda
  5. hello all! I have been accepted to New York Academy of Art and started my MFA program in painting last month. I will be documenting my grad experience on my personal blog if anybody is thinking about applying to NYAA or interested in learning more about what goes on there. www.takingchancesinkansas.blogspot.com you can follow by email or blogger if you're interested. thanks!
  6. i'm a little late on this, but yes, i was accepted last week. are you thinking of attending? it's my top choice but im afraid of that debt. ny is expensive already, let alone grad school.
  7. hello... i just read your post about negotiating $$ to accepted schools where you offer to help/show emails where it has been successful. i was accepted to PAFA & NYAA and can't afford either one, and i would love to see how that conversation went. congrats on cranbrook! you must be badass

  8. hey!! thank you so much for compliment, you're very kind. i did get acceptance from NYAA today :) ... and waitlisted is better than rejected! good luck !

  9. got accepted to PAFA (2/22 via snail mail) and NYAA (2/25 via email)! still waiting to hear from tyler and penndesign.
  10. Your work is so beautiful and haunting, I love your style it's so well developed and unique. I heard from NYAA by email that I'm basially waitlisted, did you get some good news?

  11. hey there! i know of malcolm, but did not have him. my foundation was in fine arts but i ended up with a degree in graphic design. i took mckelvey and bavaro. graduated in 2005. i've applied to PAFA, NYAA, Tyler and UPenn. we should be hearing from PAFA this week. good luck!

  12.
