Hello! I was just taken off the wait list for my program in education! I will be accepting their offer as soon as I get the paperwork. Congratulations to you all as well

This isn't proper "form" but I don't think there will be any penalty besides losing your deposit. Unless you sign some kind of contract you are ok to back out... I am in this same situation and I emailed the department and told them I was in a financial situation right now and needed to wait on another school to show me what they were offering financially. I said that I needed to make sure I made the right choice for me in my life right now. As long as you don't place a value on each school it doesn't hurt to ask for an extension.

I am still waiting on UT Austin's Masters program in Higher Education Administration. I called them on Tuesday and they said they thought it was strange that my status hadn't updated on the website because they submitted all of the acceptances/rejections on Tuesday... I can't get ahold of the coordinator for this program and have left a voice mail with no response. It makes me uneasy when someone in that department doesn't know why my status wasn't changed... Anyone waiting for this program as well?

I was put on the wait list and called up to the department asking about rankings etc... They were very nice and helpful! I would just call and make sure you give a good impression on the phone. The person I spoke with was on the admissions committee for my program
