I've applied only to Maryland. I REALLY hope I get accepted. Good luck to you! -
Well, I've been to NY many times and I love the campus. I haven't been to Boston before so it's difficult to decide right now. I have to make a decision by Thursday too =/

umass boston has yet to get back to me and i got wait-listed from teachers college for their ma applied linguistics program. i hope they eventually want me

aww, don't lose hope! have you applied to any other programs?

Hey, guys So I'm currently in my last semester as an undergrad and I applied to TC (Columbia) and UMass Boston for their M.A. in Applied Linguistics programs. My stats really aren't that impressive, so I thought TC was a long shot, but I got wait-listed (a miracle in itself) and I still haven't heard back from Boston. I was wondering if any of you know anyone who was wait-listed from TC and then accepted. I don't know how great of a chance I have of actually getting in, so I don't know if I'm supposed to give up hope yet or not lol. And does anyone go to Boston? I've seen a lot of people who applied to Amherst but not many who applied to Boston. Can anyone tell me what it's like there? They emailed me on Monday making sure that I was applying for their on-campus masters program before they sent my application over to the review committee. Does it take a long time to go over applications? I've just been checking everyday to see if I got in and nothing yet. Does anyone have experience applying/getting accepted/rejected? Thanks

i applied to their ma applied linguistics program and got wait-listed, which i'm thrilled about since i thought i'd get rejected all together. did you get accepted to the tesol program?

they emailed me saying that my decision was up so i should go check my app status and that's where i found out. they're letting people know in batches, so you may find out later. i got an email about all the fafsa stuff too and then a couple of hours later i received the decision email. AND i actually applied for the MA applied linguistics program, not the education program. so what they want may be different from what you applied for (since this is an education thread). i actually don't know why i posted this here and in the linguistics thread LOL. but my gpa is only a 3.2. really low, i know. and that's why it's such a miracle that i've been waitlisted. -
i got wait-listed from teachers college at columbia today. i know i feel very hopeful at this point, because honestly, i thought i'd get completely rejected. i really hope they'll reconsider my application T___T

wow! this is a great thread! i don't know why i just found out about it. everyone in here is so smart x_x. my stats aren't that great but i'm just hoping and waiting. i applied to umass boston and teachers college at columbia for their applied linguistics programs. yeah, only two, i know =/ but these are the schools i really want to go to. i didn't bother applying to schools i knew i wouldn't go to even if i got accepted. i see that some people have already been accepted! congratulations to you guys! i wish you all the luck wherever you may be going. soon it's my turn to hear back... SO NERVOUS! sorry to hear that you were waitlisted =/ but is this for boston? amherst?
