  1. haha Katie that's great! I would definitely stick with the IPA idea..maybe some UTK stuff though...just saying
  2. From what I was told it needed to be a class with a lab. I was under the impression that most bio/chem/physics classes had labs already built into them..maybe I lucked out and that only applied for the school I went too. I'm a post-bacc too by the way and after almost two years of classes I still need a few more requirements
  3. I know the feeling...can't wait to start wanting to pay attention again in three months!
  4. What an excellent question! I am moving from Pittsburgh to Knoxville and I am very excited about the move. This summer I will be returning to my old place of employment for two months until I make the final move to Tennessee during the middle of July. I already have a busy few months lined up, but here's a few more things I'd like to do: 1. Finish the rest of James Patterson novels I've bought recently (Alex Cross and Michael Bennett) 2. Trout fish some of my favorite streams in central and western PA (Slippery Rock Creek, East Fork AND First Fork of the Sinnemahoning River, Salmon Run, Trout Run) 3. Kayak the Slippery Rock gorge with my twin brother 4. Brush up on some A&P stuff from undergrad/post-bacc (school related I know, but a must!) 5. Kentucky Derby in-field with some friends from back home! 6. Hike part of the North Country Trail in Tionesta, PA 7. Clean up my apartment in Pittsburgh and move everything into storage (my parents garage) until July 8. Get my car fixed for the massive amount of miles I'm going to (continue to) put on it in the coming years. 9. Work my butt off to make enough money to pay for the first 6 months of my apartment (just a personal goal). 10. Have fun and spend as much time as possible as I can with my girlfriend before school starts back up and we are both busy once again.
  5. I agree with newms, they most likely wouldn't recommend you to the graduate school if they felt that the graduate school would deny you. I wouldn't be concerned.
  6. I will be completing my post-bacc classes at Pitt next week (I have been here for three semesters) and I have loved everything about it. The professors are excellent and Oakland is a great area of Pittsburgh. UPMC is a world recognized medical institution and that allows for some great clinical rotations with some very well known clinicians in the field. There are plenty of job opportunities in the area as well. Pittsburgh is continually ranked as the top city to live in and Pitts SLP program is a top 15 program in the nation. Do yourself a favor and come to Pitt!
  7. All I can think about is a new town, a new apartment and beginning a program that I've been waiting to start for the past few years!

  8. haha can't wait! There's one more lurking around on here somewhere...we were just talking so I know she's around!
  9. congrats! The waiting affffter the waiting is a killer haha I'm sure it'll all be worth it and you'll have a great time in the program!
  10. Oh yeah? Well I hope you decide to attend! All the faculty are very knowledgeable and helpful
  11. My first orange comes in tomorrow...I can't wait to start wearing it!
  12. Starting my M.S. there this fall in speech-language pathology. Anyone else planning on moving to Knoxville/going to UTK this fall?
  13. I have to agree here. Waitlisted at Pitt...after a year and a half of post-bacc work and going above and beyond. Not the same feeling going into class every day now.
  14. That's awesome! Everyone seems to have the same feeling about the program...and it's looking like I'll have an easy decision! Enjoy Memphis, I've also heard great things about their program
  15. I'm in this boat, but mainly because I've only received one acceptance so far haha. The program has everything I want though, so I feel fine about "deciding" already. I have my cut off date set for next Wednesday before I leave for a mini vacation!
  16. I'm going for to visit the department on May 2nd and I can't wait. I only have one day that trip and then I'll be down again two weeks after that to try and find an apartment and all that fun stuff. Still waiting on that official letter and funding notification!
  17. I agree. Any offer is something to be proud of. I only have one acceptance so far and received two rejections today, but it is what it is and I will be be very happy at UTK (one of my top choices!)
  18. I will most likely be accepting a position in the M.S. speech-language pathology program at UTK. Someone tell me about living in Knoxville..where to live, work and play (when I have time!). My main concern right now is where to live.
  19. That's such a short window...think it through! Side note: I've spent a lot of time in MT and WY and I have to say that I'm jealous you get to live there. I had my application to MT completed, but I never turned it in for one reason or another.
