I'd say so. My feeling on the whole matter is that those who are the first round acceptances and those who are absolute rejections are emailed/updated right away and those that are on what would amount to a waitlist are...just not contacted-which is horrible. Then as people reject their offers they will contact people off the waitlist. So it might just be that you have to wait until either you name comes up or all the spots are filled to be updated. Zero -A biography of a dangerous idea by Charles Seife Tracks the history of the number zero and related concepts. It is very interesting and well written. I still have ~50 pages left but I highly recommend it to anyone (I'm not a crazy math freak or anything (psychology)). Crime and Punishment - Dostoyevsky. Obviously I recommend it. Oh, and lots of textbooks and academic articles.

Okay, I guess what I should have said is that I met someone who has been contacted by their POI at NU for BBC. I don't know that everyone who's been accepted has been contacted. But HAS ANYONE in cognitive been contacted? Ha.

It's been 3 weeks since the visiting day and I at least know BBC has heard back about acceptances...what about cognitive, has anyone who received a visit heard anything? Thanks!-Im going crazy waiting.

Ha! I hate that when I mention a school that I applied to to someone (mainly Northwestern) that everyone's first response is about how bad their sports teams are. I don't think they understand that sports...well, they just aren't important.

I had phdcomics for about 1.3 days. Read. I check my email every five seconds. No hyperbole. No joke. I know that gmail will update itself but I just push the refesh button anyway. I have absolutely no idea what's gong on in any of my classes currently. I have been actively seaching for more websites like thegradcafe to see if results are posted by people anywhere else that I would otherwise be missing or more mindless graduate level comics. Haven't found any yet. Recently I've been going back to collegehumor and fmylife for mindless humor. Like another poster I now know everything about the towns I'm applying in. I have also watched EVERY video relating to the universities I'm applying to. Seriously. All of them. Please give me more suggestions.

I found this website way after invitations were sent out. And I'd post results if I was hearing anything back from these schools :'( I'd blame the psyc program time lines more than the applicants, personally.

I know there was already a "why does psychology take so much longer than every other department thread", but I'm not asking any questions, I just want a decision rendered. So please, let out your frustrations about the wait. Comment on how long you're going to have to wait after the visit. Why, if they didn't invite you to the visit they don't just reject you right away? How you had to read the entire history of five different professors for a 25 minute one-on-one, just for them to look at you perplexed at the end and say "I didn't get that from your SOP"...well give me more than a page to describe everything then! These are the things I am freaking out about. I just need an acceptance, or a rejection, or a message about being wait-listed.
