I just want to chime in here and say how happy I was to read this. It's none of my business, I know, but I'm really glad you enjoyed your anniversary, and were able to come to this conclusion. You will make it to where you want to go, eventually, if you don't this season. In the meantime, enjoy your family and loved ones, and be proud of everything you've done so far! I'm also preemptively consoling myself for forthcoming rejections with thoughts of my current achievements and past obstacles overcome. Also, I think I could make a strong argument at this moment for how tiramisu beats grad school, hands down ;-)
