Hi all...I will be attending JHU this fall. I visited the campus/city this past week for two days. It was a bit of a shock first since im coming from a big city like LA. But it does have a 'charm' to it and the campus is really nice. Ive been reading the posts on this forum and they definitely get me excited about the city and a new experience. For anyone attending JHU or i guess just in general, there is an off-housing website where people posts vacancies from the surrounding areas(Charles Village, Hampden, Mt. Vernon) and its categorized. It gave me a good idea of the cost related to each area. https://housing6.res.jhu.edu/classifieds/Default.asp
  2. One would think that our probability would be higher compared to other sciences. But i guess it matters on factors that we might not know about. For example, maybe since Earth Sciences is generally a smaller dept they might have a smaller budget to work with. This i believe would make our probability lower. And if schools get enough applicants to be selective, that makes it even more competitive. This is only one hypothetical scenario though. I think the whole probability thing can be approached in numerous ways which could help us or hurt us.
  3. Atmospheric Science here as well. The schools im applying to are in my signature. There is definitely a lack of posts in this subject area. Hey klew12, you and I are applying to some of the same schools. Have you heard back from any of them yet?
