Back to spend another season with all of the OCD potential PhD students. Applied late last year and had poor results. Putting myself through it all again this year. Best of luck to all!

Patience is not one of my strong suits.

Hondo: How did you find out that you had been accepted? The website they have seems to be weeks behind at all times. I know a decision on my application was slowed by transcripts getting misplaced along the way. I found oiut today I was not accepted to Maryland so UMAss is my last hope. Perhaps we will meet in person in Amherst!

That sucks. I suspect that your musical options will be more limited in the places you have been accepted. Where are you likely to attend? UGA I assume..

Website from UMD confirmed that I was not in. 0-3 so far. Show me some love UMass...your my last hope.

Just checked Testudo. Not recommended for admission. Not surprising but still disappointing. Best of luck to you.

No rejection or love from UMD today..

The pessimist in me says that my rejection letter will arrive shortly. Takes a couple extra days to reach the west coast.

If you look at the results last year, many were accepted at UMD in mid-March and later. Let's hope that they are working on the same timeline this year as last.

I have heard that too and am a bit perplexed. Hopefully this played a part in my rejection.

I went to the U of Oregon website and apparently I was not accepted. WTF? I did my undergraduate degree there and did very well, granted I graduated over 10 years ago. Any thoughts on whether the fact I did undergrad degree at this school may have actually hurt my chances of being accepted? This one hurts. Was not my first choice by any means but I thought that acceptance was almost certain. If I can't get in to U of O what chance do I have at Maryland...damn

Was this from UMass? I found out why I have not heard anything from them. Apparently, my transcripts from grad school were misplaced somewhere. This has been resolved so hopefully I will get some response from them soon.

I received an e-mail today from UMass in response to my questions about their timeline. I was informed that there will likely be making decisions and informing candidates the first half of March.

Another day down with nothing. This process is making me more neurotic than normal.

It is my understanding that they are taxed as income. Don't quote me on that.

Let me be clear..I was not accepted to UMD...I questioned how prior poster found out they were in.

Finally I have received word from one of my schools - University of Maryland, accepted. I'm very relieved my first notice is an acceptance. So it looks like I'll be getting a PhD! Great news. How did you find out?

Anybody have any idea when to expect anything from Rice or Maryland?

Hondo 19: I am fairly new on here as well. After reading the qualifications of a lot of people here I too was beginning to feel like I had no chance. Our stats are pretty similar and we both graduated from middle of the road state universities. It also looks like we both applied to U of O, UMass & Maryland. I feel pretty good about my chances of getting into UMass & Oregon but no too sure about UMD. I have also applied to Rice which is my first choice but I will be OK if I get in anywhere. I think it is important that you look at where a lot of people on here are applying to go to school. Lots of Harvard or Berkeley bound people. I would think you should get in somewhere. Good luck..
