  1. Well, since I'm in LA, it will be April 15th in 1 hour and 47 minutes errr 46 minutes. I've been so anxious all week for some reason but I don't know why. Definitely a freak out week. How is everyone else coping? :?
  2. Well, I contacted the department and the program assistant was useless and told me to contact the Grad Divison. And the grad division in turn, tells me to contact the Department. So needless to say I was not happy with the run around treatment. I ended up e-mailing my advisor telling her that I know she/school needs an answer prior to April 15 but that I didn't feel comfortable making such a decision before I knew more financially. She said she understood my concerns and suggested that I hold off until the end of April because they may funds available by then. So I guess its just a waiting game from here on out. I am so tired of this limbo though. I need to know how to proceed but I'm stuck in the same place I was 2 months ago. :?
  3. It only mentions on their site that the absolute deadline with funding offer is April 15. I will call and inquire I guess. Thanks for the replies. Also, kahlan_amnell, I see you got in to Washington State. Its really nice up there. Attended for my undergrad.
  4. I was accepted into a school that has not made me an offer of any funding. Am I required to reply re: their offer by April 15 or is that irrelevant since no money is involved? Likewise, if I were to accept and consequently not find funding and cannot attend...is it okay for me to change my mind? :?
  5. I love the way I got my rejection letter in the mail last week...and they felt like ruining another week so they sent an automated e-mail to check my online status as well at 11:19 last night. If I hadn't been admitted to a couple other schools...this could have seriously damaged my self-esteem. Ah well...Go Bruins! lol. 8)
  6. Stay hopeful...future results may surprise you! Good luck.
  7. You're probably right. I am just so paranoid right now. *sigh*
  8. Wait...I think I have a super freak out moment right now. I was invited to attend visiting weekend at a university I've been amditted to. They have not yet mentioned anything about funding. Anyway, the advisor that I want to work with lives in the same city as me and will be commuting to the weekend and has asked if I would like to ride along. Though my first mind tells me this is a good opportunity, I am verrrrry freaked out right now at the prospect of a 2 hour commute each way. What in the world will I talk about? I keep thinking I would say some absolutely stupid things that will affect my funding chances. Arrrrrghh! :?
  9. My "freak out moment" exactly. No funding, I can't go.
  10. Argh! I feel all of your pain. Everything has definitely been on pause. I have been keeping at bay a perfectly good relationship until I get this school thing settled. My lease ends soon and I need to know if I will have to relocate. I also keep turning down perfectly good teaching positions because I don't know where I may end up. Such limbo. :?
  11. Are you attending the upcoming Recruitment Weekend thingy? Also, who would be your potential advisor at UCSB?
  12. No. My app status/decision page is the same as it was when I completed my application packet.
  13. I don't know anyone else who applied to PSE. If I were you, I'd still have hope. Its highly possible you may get positive feedback.
  14. Since UCSB is now my only hope...does anyone know when the Department of Ed normally notifies of financial support? I'm thinking they may use their upcoming "Recruitment Weekend" to weed through all of us. *sigh* I guess I'm off to pray for funding... :|
  15. I applied to this emphasis and got my lovely rejection letter today. (D*mn GRE!) I don't know where you live but consider the mailing time it may take for you to hear something. I live in LA and it was postmarked 2/26. Hope this helps.
