  1. Hey Bukharan! Thanks and good luck with all your applications and the funding! Plus your 'admitted' list is really impressive
  2. Hi new Mexico ( are you from the state of new Mexico)? I have contacted the graduate admission office and they say the office or the department even has little to do on this. I guess we should wait but hope it will come early with good news
  3. Hey guys! I am kind of freaking out since the website of Oxford says for the first round applicants (the deadline was back in November 2010), the college placement decision is expected to come out on March 3, 2011 but I have not heard from them yet. I got my admission letter to the programme more than 2 months ago. I did not indicate college preferences on my application form. Is it because they are coordinating college placement with scholarship selection? For the University of Oxford, does information on scholarship, if I get any, usually come with college admission letter? Just can anybody tell me about the dynamics of college placement and scholarship at Oxford? Thanks very much!
  4. Thanks for sharing surprisecake! I have responded to your question about ESPM. Fingers crossed!
  5. I have asked Adam and he says the funding info, if you are offered any, has already been included in your offer letter, which has been sent out. I did not get any though.
  6. Hi Pablo! Yes I am an international student but I have completed my junior year in United States as an exchange student. GRE is only one factor among many other equally important ones. My scores are V 630 Q 800 AW 5.0. I have read from the intro book of FES that previous applicants say the personal statement carries much weight, and I guess even higher than the test scores. Good luck to us!
  7. Hey Pablo (I hope I have picked your first name right ! Yes I also applied to SNRE UMich, Oxford, Univ. Washington, ESPM Berkeley, and some others. I have got several admittances but I guess I am most into FES. They have great programs and fabulous connections with external entities, both private and public. I am applying to the MESc programme. What about you? Hope the good things happen to both of us and other peers who might be anxiously waiting as well!
  8. Hi Pablo Peña! I have applied to the MESc programme at Yale FES. Equally anxious to know the outcomes in mid-March. Do you know whether the funding info will be coming at the same time with the admission decision?
  9. Thanks for sharing mooseundsquirrel! good luck with the programme you have chosen!
  10. Thanks mooseundsquirrel for sharing! I will definitely take your advice and ask. Do you mind sharing as well why you did not choose SNRE in the end?
  11. Thanks livingthedream! fingers crossed for us and all other peers.
  12. Hi livingthedream! It is so great that you are doing this. I also got into the SNRE Fall 2011. Have you heard anything from them about the funding info? Any idea that when it will be coming? I take it as a ritual to share my stats and background info. Undergraduate Education: Sichuan University (China) and University of Washington (junior-year exchange); majors in biological science and have taken many environmental classes at UW whose PoE programme is way awesome. Undergraduate GPA: 90 out of 100 in China and 3.83 at UW. GRE Scores: 630 800 5.0 Not much professional experiences (I am still a senior in college) but I have joined in many research projects led by faculty members in both China and United States (about environmental assessment, species population, climate change and conservation decision making tool, etc.). LOR: one from my undergrad supervisor in China and two from UW professors. Admitted (up to date): Environmental Change and Management MSc, University of Oxford; Forest Resources PhD, University of Washington; SNRE Master, University of Michigan.
