  1. Thanks for the help guys and gals, very much appreciated :-) Unfortunately, I asked the International Affairs Office of the University about my Visa status (and if I could get a J-1), but they said I can only be considered as F-1(for clinical psychology) :-( . So essentially, I'm really stuck with an F-1, and my wife will go utterly bonkers just doing nothing :-(
  2. I'm coming in with an F-1 Visa, so my wife will come in as an F-2 Visa. As F-2 visa, dependents cannot work, right? Is there a process or anything that can be donw so that my wife can get some work, even just for part-time? :-D Thanks!

Hey guys, this thread has been uber-helpful! I'm an international student studying here at the Fall 2011 semester, do you have any tips or info that you think I should know? Stuff like what part is the best place to get an apartment (or do you recommend any apartment)? Places where there is a high crime rate/places to avoid? Awesome places to eat? Thanks!
  4. I stand corrected, deleting unfriendly in my last comment, but still sticking with inefficient :-D I also want to attend their program, especially since my interest is addiction. But I can't wait forever for their response, especially if I have other offers :-( Or at least give us a heads-up, or notify people on their top list to hang on :-(
  5. Applied there too, but in Clinical Psych, haven't heard anything either :-( If you ask me, compared to the other Universities I applied to, their process is very inefficient and unfriendly :-(
