  1. I think at this point, you just need to wait. Given that Canadian schools already take a little longer, you might be at the point where you need to cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm really, really glad you're not rejected; I can tell how badly you want this, so good luck! At least you know that they deemed you good enough for the waitlist, and you can internally think that they might have accepted you if there weren't issues of Visas, so you can wait to see how that goes. I'm really wishing you luck!
  2. I'm glad it worked out for you. Yeah, when I got accepted to the former one, I got paranoid ... I kept rereading the PDF letter to make sure it was official.
  3. After I got accepted at one of my schools, it took about two or three weeks for the accept/reject offer to show up on the webpage! Another school didn't update my online status for anything until April 15th, and I received my letter on February 26th. I'd say that giving it this weekend is a good plan and don't stress about it. You're in, they just haven't added one of the logistical aspects yet.
  4. Apologies for not seeing this sooner. I called the program and they Emailed me yesterday.
  5. I just heard back from York and it wasn't good news. Good luck to everyone else.
  6. Nooo idea, but the woman (who has been incredibly nice throughout this process—it's wonderful that they have such great people running these emails) said that they would send me an Email with an offer as soon as they heard back from some other people. I don't know what that indicates about where I stand, but I'm interpreting it as a reason to be optimistic! And that's exciting! Good luck. At least you can breathe easy this weekend.
  7. Yeah, I'm fairly certain my deadline was January 15th. I remember being surprised that it got moved. I'm that type of person, too—procrastinating has never helped. (Though unrelated to this thread in particular, I just heard back from U of T and I got waitlisted. Not bad to know, at least!)
  8. I don't know! It might have been? I know it definitely was for mine, and when I considered a different program, they explained the deadline is usually extended to the end of January/Feb 1st because it was one where I was required to meet with the department before I sent along an application.
  9. I just called York and possibly left the most awkward voice mail in my life to inquire about the status of my application. Let's hope I hear back soon! I did send my application back in November, as well, but the deadline wasn't until February 1st (which was, as I understand it, an extended one). I received notification around February fourth that I would hear back in six to eight weeks, and it's now at the tail end of that (and that was a form letter, I believe, that's sent to all applying students). I've heard back from other programs, thankfully, with acceptances! But both of the schools I applied to in Toronto were high on my list of interest, and I don't want to make any rash decisions. York in particular is one where I went and met with some people I'd love to work with, as they can help foster my ideas and help them grow. I left the meetings feeling very encouraged, but fully aware that they wouldn't be in charge of the application process. But yeah, I want to know. I check my York myfile page several times a day, and people reported hearing back! But who knows? I only contacted this morning because of the sudden fear that mail from Canada to the US would take far longer than I'd prefer (as it ... has in the past). I'd rather know than not know at this point, be it acceptance or rejection.
  10. It does help! I've been following my program under "York [Program]" for a while, which is how I've personally kept track of things (as York doesn't overlap with NYU in my field). It might not be so easy for other people. I have the vague, fleeting hope that maybe they just haven't gotten around to me yet because I'm American, or ... something. I really like the opportunities that York has to offer. But I also know the limitations on international acceptances.
  11. I've been too anxious to for the schools I'm waiting for from Canada (also waiting on Toronto), as I know Canada has a tendency to take longer. The program I applied to is on the list, but I already knew that people reported hearing back on the results board. I don't want to bother anyone.
  12. Are you pulling the information for this list from the results board, or from what you personally know? I haven't heard anything back from York myself, so I'm curious if I should send along an Email to the department in question. Thanks!
