  1. Fyi - Berkely offers an online self-paced one that I've been considering - I'll only go for it if I decide to go to SAIS...
  2. Thats good to know we're on the same boat! I agree that IR/PS still lacks the brand value of these schools. Keep me posted on your final decision...I havent started really investigating yet...
  3. Green Diplomat - Thanks for your insight. Fyi, Ive been admitted to SIPA, SAIS and Fletchers (and waitlisted at HKS, but thats a whole different story). I have a half tuition scholarship with Fletchers. Currently, I'm really trying to decide between SIPA and Fletchers (mainly because of the aid at Fletchers.) I'm from the private sector, but Im open to anything after graduation - in other words, I have no clue where I'd like to end up. I dont want to end up in debt, so Fletchers looks very attractive. SIPA on the other hand is better known and has the advantage of NYC. Thoughts?
  4. waitlisted MPA2 - this is so frustrating.
  5. Hi Siya - Once the decisions are posted - I think it may be worthwhile to at least do a joint email for those of us who get rejected by the MPA program. As they say - strength in numbers. I'll pm you (once the results are out) and we can discuss. I think there's absolutely no harm in calling them now and politely inquiring. That's what representatives are there to do - answer your questions. I think it will also reinforce the message that many of us have been impacted by this issue.
  6. Has anybody received their MPA2 decisions yet? I called today and they're sticking with the March 31st date. For those of us that were moved from MPP to MPA2, looks like there's going to be no recourse.
  7. Still so frustrated about the MPP to MPA2 decision. I simply dont understand how they thought this was OK. It seems awfully irresponsible to treat applicants this way.
  8. Folks - his v.m has changed. It now says that they are working on processing the notifications. Nothing about the date. Keeping my fingers crossed...
  9. I dont get it - when you call, it goes directly to voicemail..and it says notifications will be made sometime 15-17th. Its close to 4:00 p.m. on the 18th....
  10. Fyi- I got the coordinator on the line. He said tomorrow (extending into Friday) was the magic day.
  11. Hi - I just sent you a PM on this issue...
  12. My background is two Masters degrees - one in environmental engineering and one in journalism. GRE - 670 (V) and 800 (Q) Graduate certificate in international affairs Work ex: 4 years working for an energy company as Public and Govt. Affairs + plus some non-profit volunteer experience Specifically applied for MPP 's IGA concentration. Is there a way we can appeal? I dont mind being rejected - as long as its from the right program!!!
  13. I think its absolutely ridiculous. I cant believe they simply decided to consider us for the MPA. The lady I spoke to told me that she didnt think I was even considered for MPP! I didnt spend $100 and countless hours so I could be considered for the wrong program. Apparently, they have no feedback system either. This is so frustrating. I really would have preferred an outright reject. It really bothers me that I wasnt considered for the MPP program.
  14. Hi - Im in the exact same situation. I applied to the MPP program, yet no word so far. My SPARKS acct also says MPA - though I specifically applied for MPP. I called HKS and was given the same response. Looking at your experience, I guess we were considered for MPA - though I'm not remotely qualified for that as well. I guess this means - at least for me - a reject from MPP. Oh well...
  15. Me too - not sure why some of us have yet to receive it. I'd rather it just be done and over with!
  16. Thanks for calling! Ive been calling forever - and no one ever picks up! Good to know...
  17. I got in too - have to complete micro and macroeconomics... also - sorry for the earlier information on decisions being released late March - I have no clue as to why she would say that to me!
  18. I'm in - with assistance!!! This is so unexpected and fabulous!
  19. To make your lives (and mine) a little easier, I just called the SAIS office and was told the decisions will be released "late March." I asked her again if that meant it wasn't going to be this week, and she said, it probably will not be this week... more waiting - *yay*
  20. I think thats a fair assumption since last year, they werent done until March 24th or 25th...
  21. Unfortunately, getting in touch with the IPS folks is super hard. When i called a long time ago, the coordinator said sometime between 10th-15th.

  23. wow - Ive been a silent reader of the forum for ever - it was comforting to know that I wasn't the only one suffering from the neurosis that characterizes waiting for decisions. I'm so unhappy to be one of the 35% that's still waiting....this could potentially go on for at least 10 days...and in this alternate universe of waiting, thats a lifetime. Congratulations to folks with the admits! *sigh*
  24. Thanks - I guess my question was - does not wanting a PhD count against you for aid? I got in, but didnt receive any aid....
  25. Hi all, I heard back as well - though I didnt receive any aid - which is a bit disappointing. I'm not interested in a PhD after the one year masters, and I'd made that pretty clear in my application. Do you think this played a role in my not getting any financial aid? I'm still on the fence about CIR and will not know until I hear back from the other schools...
