I got a research grant to Iceland! I received my acceptance in the mail today, postmarked April 8th (I live in Texas). Good luck to those still waiting.

Is anyone waiting to hear from Iceland? Last year results were received via mail around April 13th. I'm hoping we'll hear back next week.

That's strange that you guys haven't heard from Skowhegan. Maybe it means you're in? Here is what my email from Skowhegan said: Thank you for your interest in Skowhegan. The Board of Governors and Faculty have completed their review of over 2,000 applications for the 65 places in the class. I am sorry to report that we cannot offer you admission this summer. However, we would like you to know that the Governors and faculty felt your work was very strong and encourage you to apply again next year. ------------------ Is this a generic email or do they send this email selectively? Any thoughts?

just got a rejection via email from Skowhegan. (3-30-09)

For anyone wondering, I just called the Fulbright program manager in NY and asked about the status of my country (Iceland). The woman over the phone said that the Icelandic committee has met and made their decisions, now we are waiting on the US to confirm these grants. So the most important part is completed...she said we will probably hear back in two weeks or so. Exciting! Good luck to everyone.

I am a finalist for the Iceland Fulbright and waiting to hear back. My advisor said in the past that the majority of the countries will notify applicants by the end of March. Anyone else waiting on Iceland?

Cornell had interviews this week and made decisions yesterday...this is for every program and they are taking no more than five people.
